I'm playing as Nationalist China on N/N with 1.06c (game was started with 1.06 but seems to run fine under 1.06c).

I started the game taking out Communist China, Sinkiang, Siam, and Tibet. Japanese DOW on me in summer 1940. I focused on electronic (with an eye towards computer stuff) and industrial techs.

Somehow, miraculously Yugoslavia survived against the Germans, Bulgarians, Romanians, and Italians. This was in large part thanks to British exp. forces. I also dedicate all my DI to tech sharing up their infantry and land doctrine. It was fun watching the Yugos hang in there. They are a large part of the reason the Allies came out on top over Comintern in this game.

I probably put too much into research (like 80-90% of my economy most of the game) and as a consequence it took me a while to finish the Japanese. I annexed Japan in July 1945 or so. Part of the slowness, was that I thought I could conquer Japan with vanilla infantry and a little mech. I eventually identified the need for Marines and Mountain divisions in Northern Japan, and it took time to build those divisions (and in the case of the Marines researching how to build them).

Since then I've just been filling out my technology tree, and building some cool units (advanced light 70, advanced medium 80, advanced heavy 120, and in a few months jets!). It's January 1947, and the Allies have more points than the Comintern, but I kind of want to try out my new toys on a worthy opponent. However, SU is just too strong (~700 div) at the moment (I have ~100 high quality div). By the end of 1947, I might be able to hold my own (I have almost 600 IC), but then I'm hitting up against the time limit. It seems kind of pointless to DOW them a few months before the end of the game. Anyone have any ideas? Does the game extension mod work in any way for 1.06c? Perhaps I could leave the alliance and DOW one of my former allies?

You could get the No time limit mod, and keep playing until you take out russia. That's probably what I'd do.

research nukes :) and you probably will need to get the no time limit mod because you probly won't have nukes by the end of the game

Here ist the Link 2 a thread where you get some solutions how to get more time for a game.I currently started China because I wanted to see how far I can come with them, as I knew that I would need more time 2 rule the world (dont want any alliance) I gave me some extra years.

I`m not 2 far as I`m a micro management freak and when in war running most the time in the slowest modu. I would be interested to hear how many Industries you gave the 1 IC provinces.

Do you have a working link for the "no time limit patch"? The link on the thread is broken.

I only upgraded all of my 1 IC provinces to 2 (including the ones I conquered). With all the electronics and industrial bonuses + annexing Communist China, Sinkiang, Tibet, Siam, Manchuria, Korea, Japan, my total IC's comes to about 591. I did not upgrade any other provinces. I upgraded the land forts at Hohot, Datong, Beijing, Tianjin to level 4. I also put level 3 AA along that same line and down the northern portion of my coast. I found AA to be quite useful, as my AF was just totally unprepared for Japan. I was able to harass their AF once I got about 6 basic fighter units (this was 1.06 so prior to stacking rules which certainly changes things). With the new stacking rules, I might wait until I had improved fighters. Before then, AA is probably your best bet.

Be careful about not joining an alliance--you may not have a choice. If Japan joins the Axis and DoWs you, you are not given a choice in Vanilla 1.06. You automatically join the Allies, which was highly annoying as I wanted to own Indonesia at some point (I guess I did get some decent tech shares). I was able to take Vichy France SE Asia when they were puppeted by the Germans (this event happened while playing 1.06), which gave me a good supply of rubber. However later I ran into the French puppeting the Vichy France bug. I fixed by editing out the puppet and civil war portions of the save game file, but that still left Vichy with SE Asia again, and I lost a big part of my rubber supply.

The way to beat the Indo-China thingy is to DoW France. Take it out. Once France turns into Vichy, Sue for Peace. You'll keep the Southern Asian area since you made peace with the Allies and not Vichy.

You should be able to find it in the scenarios and mods forum

I searched and searched and searched... but wasnt able to find the unlimited time mod here, only the broken link. The other prog to change time limit doesnt work for 1.06c. So I edited the hoi.exe via hex editor and set the limit to 1960, what should be enough. How to do this si described in the link I posted. Was realy easy and it workes fine (used very fast speed for some time and run the game to 1950).

Currently the stupid ai missed the japan elections, i will edit them now manualy, so they can dow me. What will happen if i dow the allies and Japan enters the axis? Should prevent to be forced to join the allies or?
