Hi guys,

I play a campaign as Nationalist China (again) and have the problem, that I cannot annex (and thus inherit troops, generals and tech teams of) my chinese allies, when they are in peril of getting annexed by the Imperial Japanese Army.

Therefore I lost every game so far to the vastly superior forces of Japan.
When I play as Japan, Nationalist China always "absorbs" the smaller Chinas when I am close to annexing them.

I think that these annexations are events triggered whenever a Chinese clique is endangered by Japanese annexation, so I would like to manually trigger these events in case of said annexation peril. Unfortunately I have no idea of the numbers of these events or how to find them.

So please, knowledable fellow Generals, help me out!

Many cordial thanks in advance,

Agin

If you play with japan, i think you should attack nat. china first. After annex nat. china, try to make peace wih nat. china allies or attack them.

The possibility of annexing the smaller Chinese countries is for AI only. The human player has to use different approaches. For once Shanxi has to be absorped by JAP so the Japanes surrenders to NatChi event can eventually fire. Second you may annex Guanxi without losing its divisions. There is a thead somewhere explainig in detail how this is accomplished. IMO you should not annex ComChi as you´ll lose the divisions which you really need badly.

Hm, I understand that, I just want to mod it a little...

Is there a list of all events with the according number somwhere? If so, in which file can I find it? Unfortunately I never modded HoI before, so I am a complete and utter noob ^^

Is there a list of all events with the according number somwhere?

All the events you are looking for can easiliy be found in db/events/ai_inherit_chi.txt. Just backup the original file, open it using an ordinary text editor, remove the "ai = yes" - line in events 7005 through 7010 and save the changes. Now the annexation-events should trigger even if Nationalist China is controlled by a human player.

If you aren't eager to edit your files, just open the console pressing f12 and trigger the events manually. The command is

Code:
event xxxx

7005 => Communist China (no units inherited)
7006 => Shanxi
7007 => Yunnan
7008 => Xibei San Ma
7009 => Guangxi
7010 => Sinkiang

Confirm every command with your enter-button. The console may be closed again using f12.

Use CCIP have several MUST have events for Nat Chi players. Including one that absorbs Shanxi if it's being overrun or if you're pushing into Manchuria to name just two.

Also, it's a good idea to bring Yunnan and Shanxi into your alliance before Japan attacks. That way you can preposition their armies.
