If you look in \Europa Universalis IV Demo\common\ideas\00_country_ideas.txt you can see each country's unique idea set. I thought we could perhaps discuss these, and in particular which - if any - you feel aren't quite right.
For example, I have seen it mentioned across various threads that the Ottomans ought to have some sort of bonus to internal stability, such as a culture or religion-based revolt risk modifier. Personally I would agree with this; there is an 'Ottoman Tolerance' idea, but does it come soon enough? That particular idea gives +3 tolerance to both heathens and heretics, and so is going to be hugely useful in a multi-religious empire, but there are still going to be a hell of a lot of culture-based rebels, as we can see in the demo. Just a thought, anyway...
Burgundy begins with a 5% bonus to cavalry power, but from what I know of the Burgundian Wars cavalry played a relatively small role; Burgundian armies were mainly composed of men-at-arms, pikes, English longbows and arquebusiers, along with an impressive artillery train. Presumably it would make sense to replace that particular bonus with one to leader_fire - Bohemia is the only other country to get that +1 bonus, which presumably represents the Hussite arquebusiers. I do like Burgundy's emphasis on improved mercenaries, though.
France has some extremely potent bonuses when added together, and I think that Élan should in fact come much later. I'd probably consider moving it to the idea before Liberté, égalité & fraternité, as it strikes me as being something of a Revolutionary idea, and that 33% to land morale is a bit too much for the early game. France would already get 20% more manpower, 10% more vassal income, 10% more tax income and 40% more defensiveness by then!
