Core creation should only go to nations that either expanded or lost a lot of territory (reclaiming it back).

Well that certainly applies to Majapahit and Khmer. I honestly can't remember why I gave it to Lan Xang.

Like Theocracies!

Well the theocracy ideas were apparently designed around the Teutonic Order and then applied to all theocracies. You sometimes see people here arguing for a seperate "HRE theocratic minors" idea group for that reason. It kind of fits for the TO at a stretch.

Those are special, higher than normal values though, like the French/Prussian +20% morale bonus. I don't think any nation has more than one idea of that strength, and most have none.

Actually, a few nations have aberrant ideas in multiples:

Prussia: 7.5% discipline (Japan and only Japan has this much or more), 20% morale, 20% infantry combat ability (only Sweden shares it), tradition decay.

Ottomans: Absurdly gross traditions and even the nerfed ghazi is top-class. Their force limits and tolerance NIs are aberrant also.

Russia: 50% manpower is shared only with Ming in terms of NIs. Nobody else gets 50% land FL. They're one of 4 nations with -10% tech cost and Taungu is the only other starting nation with the -infantry cost, which Russia gets alongside 25% manpower.

Poland: 33% cavalry combat, 15% morale, and the 25% manpower 10% infantry combat combo stand out.

Italy: Core cost is shared by only a few, and the traditions are crazy

Hordes: Core cost, manpower recovery (Ghazi lol), and -20% maintenance are all top tier NIs, too bad they're so hamstrung.

Colonial: The traditions and -33% advisor costs are both standouts, nigh-unmatched

Najd: The traditions aren't matched elsewhere, very few nations get missionaries. Najd is amusingly a bit too much of a good thing and not enough of other things, but they do have multiple standout NIs including conversion, missionaries, and attrition :D.

Knights: 50% naval FL is Denmark/NED only territory, their tradition of discipline *and* +2 TTF is top tier, and +1 yearly army tradition is top tier for that bonus. 25% privateer bonus is the strongest in the game and unmatched.

Some of these have weaker other NIs to compensate for the higher-than-normal values. Others, such as Knights (a top tier NI set overall, gimped by their position even worse than Prussia though) and Prussia, pretty much span the board with top tier NI stuff. Najd is the rather amusing case of being almost across-the-board aberrant (with a few exceptions) and still not being that strong haha.

Well that certainly applies to Majapahit and Khmer. I honestly can't remember why I gave it to Lan Xang.

Majapahit never actually expanded past what is represented in EU4. They had, however, all of Sumatra, about 3/4 of the Bruneian cost, most of Sulawesi, the western tip of New-Guinea, Sulu, the southern Golden Peninsula, and all the small islands in between as tributary states, giving them a significant wealth despite having a relatively small core realm. The tool to such dominance were of course their navy, and they had trade relations to China and India. If any nation deserves a copy of "French language in all courts" (+15% vassal income, -10% dipl. annexation cost), it is probably them. They where practically the Venice of Indonesia. Then the muslims came and it went downhill for them. So they were also the Byzantium of Indonesia.

You're not wrong about Majapahit's actual territorial extent, and a valid way to represent pre-1400's Majapahit would be through a large number of vassal-states. For the sake of simplicity though I think core creation is fine.

Also while Majapahit was ultimately conquered and replaced by Muslim dynasties, its decline was more related to internal dynastic issues; other Buddhist-Hindu nations would have popped up to replace Majapahit if Islam hadn't become popular.

This is certainly nice to see. With no release date there must be a reasonable number of these yet to come.

I'm sure you don't want to share anything specific, but will generic ideas be going away? It'll be really nice if the most generic we get is a regional idea.

So, I wonder... does Provence have an obvious candidate for a formable nation other than France or Italy? Maybe they could try to restore Lothringia or Aquitaine?

That would be great.

Hoping for Brittany, Scotland or Irish Minors to be able to form Celtic Empire!

As a Celtic culture own all the provinces of all the various Celtic nations; ie. Galicia, Anatolian Galicia, Tirol, Swiss cores, Northern Italy, Brittany, Cornwall, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Tough achievement!

New NI's are always great, as long as there aren't any coring cost increases  . We really do not need more of those. The jerks that take Aristocratic are annoying enough (Poland, Lithuania, Norway, and Denmark are the main offenders there).
