Let me rephrase: +2 diplomatic upkeep = +2 diplomatic relations?
Aka they just renamed it. See for example Austrian Court.

I misunderstood/mistook "relations" for "reputation".

This is something I'm wondering as well, frankly I find it easy to often get more diplo relation slots than I'm actually willing to use but if paradox is planning to change vassals to make them a more long term prospect for nations than they are now I could see them returning the old diplo relation levels

Although I also wouldn't mind Provence just have a better diplo relations bonus than other nations

+2 relations surprises me more. In 1.6 territory all +relations boosting ideas got halved. Perhaps they're undoing this with the increased #tags, or perhaps Provence is just being given some goodies for being a small nation .

I like the unveiling of NI's before release. Hope they focus on more regional/cultural idea groups, the less nations with generic ideas, the better!
