Hell, even Temur himself, for all the brutality of his conquests, heavily encouraged the arts and sciences to flourish in his heartland around Sammarkand.
So I'm comparing the two timurid ideas and it seems it's a nerf, right? Income from vassals basically is useless, while reduced coring cost is suuuper useful, especially early game. Reducing war exhaustion is also terrible irrelevant although useful at the right times.
So did Gengis Khan. Even Hitler tried his hand at it. The Italian Renaissance had lots of wars too. Really I have no idea why anyone would ever be surprised if a conqueror was also an art patron, it seems rarer to find one that wasn't.
Well the Timurid Renaissance is an acknowledged historical factthe brutality of his conquests went hand in hand with a flourishing of cities like Samarkand un unprecedented scale.
It would make for THE GREATEST national idea.Another defining feature was fratricide and patricide but that doesn't really make for a great NI ;-)
Ulugh Beg greatly contributed to Timurid renaissance, but he is no more than an incompetent heir in this game...
