Hello.

In Europa Universalis IV we have the option to sell regions to a nation of choosing, in my opinion this needs to be expanded to an option that also allows us to trade one region for another region, or outright ask the other nation for purchasing the region.
It is not enough to have only the option to sell them when so many more possibilities open up through these tiny measures.

Furthermore.

Historically in alliances and other co-operations, generals, admirals, troops, a whole lot mind you, have been known to be lended to another nations service without direct involvement in the wars they participate in, sometimes it would be for the sole purpose of aiding the country, or covertly assaulting the other nation through this other factor which you lend your nations strength.

This ends my suggestions for the moment, thank you for reading this sincere post. :D

Unfortunately, those possibilities consist largely of "the possibility to easily screw over the AI, because the human is a much better judge of deals than it is" or "the possibility to enrage the player base by offering them an option that looks attractive on paper but is completely useless in practice".

If you can identify a game where the AI is both competent (does not readily accept deals it shouldn't) and reasonable (does not insist on deal terms that no competent player would ever accept), please tell us what it is.

I believe the bigger problem you are trying to address is the lack of the ability to negotiate. Currently I cannot send and offer and what I would pay for my request whether that be money, land, or military access. Negotiation is one of the very few things I miss from the Total War series.

Then again there are many options to get this to work, without getting to overpowerd, for an example you can not sell or buy during wars, you can not buy over your force limits, there are many options we just need to open up our minds a bit.

The AI should only accept deals they have cores or claims on in my opinion, and take consideration of how much base tax they lose versus gain,
That way the AI will not agree to any region they do not desire.

My suggestion is truly more directed towards players and their Multiplayer campaigns. But the above solution to AI is the answer you should be satisfied with.
