There was this request for nation-specific brigade names popping up every now and then, which got me thinking. I actually already brought up this idea and it had some support, so I thought I could start a new thread to promote it! Who knows? Maybe it could make it into the next expansion!
So, we have default and nation-specific names for the different tech levels. For example, the Infantry Small Arms are named after some rifles/sub-machine guns used by that given country at the time (or rather from that time). The models are not the same either. A level 2 Light Tank is called differnetly in the Japan and in Italy. We also have nation-specific names for political parties. The Market Liberal party in the US is not called the same as the one in the United Kingdom or the Soviet Union. Similar to that, I think the engine could allow nation-specific localisation for any text in the game!
The syntax would work similarly to tech names and model names. If there's a string like "whatever", then the engine would recognize the "ENG_whatever" string as well, and for the UK player, the string would be replaced by that line of text.
Here are some interesting uses for such a possibility:
Note that this wouldn't mean you (PI) have to fill up all this. I'm only asking for the option. We have a very active community here, and if we get the tools to work with, we will fill in the blank sheets in no time!

Here are some interesting uses for such a possibility:
- Nation-specific province names. Danzig would be called "Gdansk", if you play Poland, Moscow would only be "Moskva" for the Soviet Union, etc.
- Minister positions could be different per country. For example, the British Head of Government would be called "Prime Minister", while the American Head of State would be called "President of the United States" (or simply President, if that's too long).
- Brigades could have nation-specific names. A German Armoured Brigade would be called a Panzer-Batallion or Panzer Abteilung, a British Infantry Brigade would be called an Infantry Brigade, but a American one could be called an Infantry Regiment. (Or whatever.) This would make it easier to implement their automatic naming convention, too. There could also be nation-specific numbering for them. (Although using roman numbers would still not be possible.)
- Nation-specific Law names. (Although I'm not yet sure how this could be used...)
