You'll note that I was able to upgrade and come back quite rapidly as far as the fighting on the American mainland went, so I was only gambling with my European possessions. (Unlike some other Great Powers one could mention...) The investment required to defend those areas with any chance of success would have cut a lot more sharply into my IC buildup.

True enough, the effort required to defend them may not have been worth it. Still, I see no reason for France to attack Axis. Taking Britain is the best preparatory step for France to take before starting any other war. I'm sure Foelsgaard realizes how much more vulnerable he'd be if he decided to start the Great March to the Pacific with Britain looming in his rear.

In hindsight, your points are well taken. I actually had no intention of interfering in a France/Axis war, and told Foelsgaard so; of course, he couldn't read my mind to find I was telling him the truth. But since I knew the truth, I overestimated the chance that he would believe it. Classic projection fallacy. But eh, these things will happen.

So this little war has until now only been good for France..By getting British Isles and Greater Scandinavian Norway...and good for Italy, by getting ríd of that pesky peace modifier..Marginally so for Norway -loosing 40 % base, and loosing the peace modifier -isn't that about the same? The only ones who got absolutely nothing from it being Finland and Georgia, who presumably lost a lot of land units..(and a little piece of land :D)

Indeed, the loss of industry is roughly made up for by my now much smaller CG need. And, of course, our Italian allies have had the same effect without any loss of industry. However, Finland occupied a considerable portion of Scandinavia, not that there was much industry there, and did not participate in the invasion of the mainland, so they lost no units unless it was to frostbite. And Africa, the slippery little bastards, managed to occupy the Azores. So I'd amend that to only Georgia and Prussia coming out with nothing. Prussia lost a couple of divisions too, but the main casualties were suffered by Georgia.

Shush, you. "On hemmed-in ground, use subterfuge." "When strong, appear weak; when weak, appear strong". In other words, try not to make blustery threats from the position China is currently in.

Norway, Norway, uber alles! Go Norway!

France, WP Norway, and you'll re-earn the loyalty and respect I had for you.

As for you, Eurasia- y'all can't say you live up to Orwell until France is gone, so wrong opponents. That, and I love Norway.

The Axis will be fortunate if they live to regret this mistake. Taking Scandinavia in exchange for granting France no rival on the continent but themselves, and giving them Britain to boot?

I wonder what East Asia will do during all this. They could viably go 'either way', although hitting Norway would hardly be sporting, and force the war to one of a defensive nature along America's coasts.

Why should Eastasia worry about feelings of the other nations/commentators ?We have already proven to be dirty back stabbers that follows the line of least resistance. Californian puppet could mend deficit in our fuel shortage, without dealing final blow to Norwegian war capacity against France.

Everyone thougth there was a NAP between America and Axis...

But the thing was that the NAP was agreed by Italy and Georgia secretly at the time of PEC. It was agreed untill the dissolution of PEC or if it happened too early, until 1938

At somepoint I asked (after Norway had threathened me with open war around 1937) that how long the NAP lasted from Italy, he gave the mystic date of 1945. As Italy has always been honourable and honest, I believed him utterly....It felt strange date but suited me perfectly at that point:D

Then Jodokus nudged me to take a look at his chatt-log archives and started to guestion me of where that 1945 came from? It was never agreed by him and Italy...
So juridicically we didn't have a NAP. Everyone just assumed there was one.
Should we have told Norway and Italy? Well at the same time of this discover, Foelsgaard send us intresting and lucarative PM :p:p:p

So, it was bit foxy not to reviel it to them, but our plan based on suprise.
Now aftermath, it propaply wouldn't have mattered....

Norway didn't focused on Europe, and his troops were trash quality against Georgians in Canada. KoM can boast all he wants about Nassagareth, But it was Varyar, and Italy who kicked Jodokius diversion(utterly useless as a such) army away.
Norwegian troops handeled poorly, but so did ´Norwegian leadership, who suprised us not with its cunningness but its lack of innovativity and effort.

EDIT: And you can imagine how dissapointed I was...I stormed to Scandinvia to finally get my "who-is-who" figth with KoM...and I didn't fire a single shot...

Damn straight. Italy was happy upholding the Docile Doctrine, but war came to the Americas. Now the sleeping otter has been awakened...

Wow, you guys are vicious. But KoM really had it coming. Spamming IC when the greatest superpowers had just concluded peace and started looking for new victims... Especially after all this ominous talk about turning Britain into Airstrip One :eek:o

Looks like Newfoundland will now be Airstrip One. Good luck with regaining control of the Atlantic...

The naval statistics look terrible. Norway and Italy lost five CVs each?? Who's got the best fleet now apart from Indonesia?
