The only consolation right now is the fact that I was proven right in my vocal opposition to allowing nukes.
Japan is actually doing rather fine, 0 dissent and almost all IC left....it lost most of its active army in the finnish front, first to the Nuclear ICBMs conventional use and then in the one tactical nuclear strike....

True. However, he was at liberty to use nukes as he pleased since they were allowed, and he hasn't lost as much as others since he has so little IC and it's spread out all over Africa so it's hard to effectively retaliate. I did let the nukes rain down on him to the best of my ability though
The asshole part was to first ask for peace, and then when an offer was sent, he nukes my nation to hell and then accepts the peace.

I'll admit to Hiroshima (although it was the un-approved actions of a rogue officer, and security on our nuclear bases has since been tightened), but I've used no nukes in this war. I understand my troops have been hit, though. As a side note, for purposes of deciding where to retaliate, Norway considers a nuke that goes off in occupied Finland to be a tactical nuke, while one that hits the American or Scandinavian mainland, England, or any other core possession, is strategic.
As for the war crime of assassinating Anja Sigridsdatter, we will give her a send-off fitting for an Yngling and a warrior by burning every Finnish minister we can lay hands on. No nukes; we speak here of old-fashioned atrocity.

The Finnish troops, although up-to-date (more so than the Norwegian infantry in fact) and well led, were unable to resist the heavy mechanised forces of the Ynglinga Hird. At this time, it is perhaps un-necessary to retain full wartime secrecy, so now - for the very first time - I am allowing a screenshot to show Norwegian strategic reserves. The dissent is partly from the DOW, and partly from the Quebecois strike at my reactor.
There was some abortive fighting in Scotland, but in those mountains with this troop density nobody was going to be advancing short of nuclear weaponry being used.
A week after the attack, my troops are busily ripping the breach in the Finnish lines wider.
And then driving hard for the German border to create a Baltic pocket - the first of many.
The first major difficulty was Novgorod. Urban, fortified, and heavily defended, it held against very heavy and sustained Norwegian attacks until early September, when German reinforcements tipped the balance between equally exhausted Norwegian and Finnish troops. This brave and skillful resistance delayed the planned Norwegian advance for six weeks.
Meanwhile, Japanese troops were attacking the Norwegian left flank from Arkhangelsk - a city noted for bringing bad luck to Yngling troops, and living up to its reputation.
The front in September. Novgorod has finally fallen, but the Norwegian troops are exhausted and badly in need of refitting. Germany has overrun the Ukraine.
