I believe waking the tiger is a huge step forward. I salute Paradox for putting in the time and effort to make this DLC. However, as no game is perfect, though this dlc can bring much fun. I just want to give some friendly suggestions.

1. Nat China at the center of this DLC seems a bit too weak while the warlords seem very strong and capable, especially if they finish their tree, turn into rival government, and then go down nat china tree......which is ridiculous. So I suggest buffing nat China a little bit to be a bit stronger, possible things that might do, (again, i'm no professional game content designer, but just wanna toss some idea out there.)
a, increase number of provinces......in fact, most provinces in China seem it should be on a "prefecture" level, but hardly covered enough, with a bit rework on the map, giving China a bit more provinces, especially in the "China Proper" heartland, will give them more building opportunities for late game, even though they are still punished by the inflation system.

b, more tactical decisions for China. Scorched earth and evacuation is powerful, but lack a Chinese flavor, some historical events should make it into decisions, as well as hypothetical events.
(1) Destroy the Yellow River Dam, this one should do severe damage organization, equipment and infrastructure in the relevent region, while giving China a stability hit.
(2) Burma Expedition, interestingly enough, Chinese expedition into Burma fared somewhat better than fighting on their own territory historically (arguable I guess, but that's the perception) Giving some faster acclimatization bonus and special force bonus, maybe draw some manpower and equipment to form some units immediately in British Raj? something like that.
(3) Russian Meddling (Duh) A decision for Russia, or for both China and Russia, contesting Xingjiang, or Xibei San Ma. Historically, Nat China actually held significant number of troops in reserve against the USSR, afraid that it would back stab China or steal Xingjiang and northwestern provinces. it's also an important factor why San Ma cooperated with Chiang, as they both resented Russian encroachment. maybe a chain of decision if successful would see USSR out of Xingjiang and giving them a non-aggression pack. On a side note, everytime when I play China. Com China joining comintern is one of the most annoying thing ever. I think it should be made nearly impossible unless a player plays com China.
(4) Expendable Youths. Nat China had some of its elite units comprising of very young adults, even teenagers brainwashed so much, that they are kinda like Japanese kamikaze pilots, except, their weapons were just rifles. It should be a desperate decision, where China suffers stability hits, or even research rate hit (but that is too much in my opinion, or just give them a 1% deduction just represent), but gains increased manpower, attack bonus on core, and reduced cost for force attack.

2. Now let's turn attention to Japan.
a 2 things in my opinion must be fixed. One, Japan ask Germany to join Axis on day 1, combine all navy into one, and force migrate to Germany, declare war on Britain in 1936, and land in GB, boom, 1937, allies no more..........this exploit is so ridiculous on so many level, the fact that the force repair would allow the Japanese navy to cross the entire world to German ports in peace time with no world tension hike is simply ridiculous. So please get rid of that mechanic. That will make things like supplying navy interesting as well. Cut off an intermediate naval port, all of a sudden, navy suffer attrition like that of army makes much more sense. Japanese navy crossing the whole world to Germany without any port to resupply them en route is just hilarious.

b Second thing, AI Japanese Civil war...............without outside interference, the Japanese civil war nowadays seems like it will never end, with neither side has any chance of breaking through the region around Tokyo........So far every single time, there is a Japanese civil war, that war never ends until the rest of the world finished tearing each other apart and then turn to Japan.

Honestly, I think Japan in a ahistorical game, should not turn Communist either, as the NF suggest, it's unthinkable......It's nice it's there, so a player can choose...ahistorical japan embracing Kodaha, or even cooperate with U.S. to get oil or something still make sense. I suggest that the chance in non-historical setting for japan, should be something like 5% communist, 40% kodaha, 40% anti-kodaha, 15% democratization. (i think i played maybe 6,7 games non-historical with the new dlc, Japan turned communist like 4 times, that's a bit too high of a chance, it should only be a rare occurance with AI in non-historic, and virtually impossible in historic)
