Awesome! I was afraid this wasn't going to come out until after university starts up again, but now I'll be able to spend the rest of my summer bringing freedom to the people of Europe!
So....would i be correct in assuming that NA does not contain any kind of workaround for the intel graphics problem?
AFAIK, the Intel graphics problem is a hardware issue. EU3 needs pixelshader 2 to run and not all Intel graphics card have hardware support for that.SickMonkey said:

It's a question of effort. But, since it only affects most midrange laptops, and laptops are only like 55% of the computers sold today, i guess it's not worth it...to small a niche.
Ah well. Enough futile bitching for today. After all, not being able to play EU3 has probably saved me hundreds of hours.
A little question, what's the 'Storming of the Bastille' event number? Can't find the event anymore, and it dosen't launch for me even I start at July 13th.

It can fire then, but it is not hard coded to fire on a particular date.

with this expansion you can start at 1453 and play all the way to 1820 with all the new added stuff right?
i never actually bought an expansion for any game before, eu3 is just an amazing game and i am sure its worth it.

I have to say I agree with this, and I felt the same when Civ IV was released.
I've got a high-end gaming PC, and the graphics are nice I'm not denying and really do add to the game if you've got a PC that can play them without problems.
But.. the gameplay doesn't require them, and it's the sort of game that appeals to a lot of people who aren't much interested in the latest graphics intensive fps titles, and therefore haven't spent their hardearned on the requisite hardware. A basic alternate 2D interface would be fine for these people, not to mention anyone who wants to play it on a standard laptop.
I realise it's stupid for me to say it makes business sense to people who are in that business, but I guess I just don't understand why it doesn't happen.
