The End
September 15th - November 12th
The game started out slow, manpower and supplies are the bane of the latter half of this game.
I send a corp of Mountaineers over to the border with Sinkiang, they weren't allied with anyone but it would take several months to reach it and even by the end of this post they had only just reached Tibet.
Para's are landed in Rio de Janeiro!
My forces spread out quickly to grab a hold of more VP's. I will not be cheated out of them again!
Troops march on an undefended Sao Paulo
Troops slow down Brazillian advance into Vitoria so my troops can gain the valuable VP.
It seems para's are very popular method of advancing for me it seems. Paras land on Iwo Jima!
Sao Paulo is mine, this division is sent north.
Iwo Jima is mine! (Although tbh it is supposed to be called Iwo To, just someone got it wrong on a map, they corrected that recently).
And....
DISASTER
I have no idea why the game started doing this, I don't. I didn't click a thing, honest.
As you can see my production is massive, but I didn't do this, note all the brigades. For some reason the game decided to stop me from changing any of the sliders or cancelling any of these projects. It also started out as 180 in supplies and 380 in production. Next day it was 160 with 420. I waited for a day to see if this would change but it didn't. I saved and restarted the game, no luck. I loaded up the autosave, no luck there either. I have no explanation for this bug. Because of the length of this AAR I am still using 1.3 but in all honesty, I think I have achieved my Napoleonic dream even if I did not goto Moscow, Washington or London. I still conquered more than Napoleon.
Thus I am ending this AAR and will start a new one soon running 1.4 at last.
In the meantime, here are some statistics and the final map.
Number of hours played: Too many
Number of Casualites: I need more paper to write this number down
Number of Screenshots: 796 aka 4.11gb of images.
Number actually posted: 616
What I learned:
France can conquer a large portion of the world but is screwed over by the lack of leadership even after controlling a large amount of the world.
Supplies are a whore to get to work in 1.3
France's navy is out dated.
After awhile you stop building units and just end up building large amounts of infrastructure become an expanding empire determined to bring really infrastructure to the world.
Paras are far more useful than pushing across large areas.
My plans for this game:
- Puppet Brazil and Argentina
- Annex Japan
- Annex Czhechslovakia
- Go nuts and declare war on everyone with my entire armed forces in Paris and waiting to see how long I would last.
*Australia also counts as part of my Empire.
Any suggestions for the next AAR are welcome but might not be listened to.
