Names for Avar Carpathia

So I'm currently playing as Catholic Avars in my Empire of Carpathia. Now the name Carpathia refers to the mountains in the region, but are there other alternate names I could use?

I could rename it Avaria as well but I'm right next to Bavaria, which makes things confusing I'm sure.

I'm debating between Dacia and Pannonia at the moment, so any other ideas? Pretty please?

Name yourself Avaria and annex Bavaria. There can be only one!

Carpathia sounds more like a modern Hungarian wingnut-nationalist fantasy name which has always kind of bothered me (though it probably wouldn't bother anyone who isn't too familiar with Hungarian "national rock"). Transdanubia sounds more like a province name of a far larger empire (a la Transleithania in Austria-Hungary). Aside from Avaria, I think the msot sensible choice would be Pannonia; you could construe it as the Avar nobility constructing themselves a national myth as descending from the Romans of Pannonia province (much like the modern Romanian nationalist Daco-Roman continuity myth); after all, in that age, being able to say that you descended from the Romans is a matter of prestige.

Transdanubia wouldn't even make sense... from the Avarian perspective they would be Cisdanubia (on this side of the Danube) and not Transdanubia (on the other side of the Danube).

Great Avaria?

This. Old Great Bulgaria is the attributed name of the original Bolgar realm before being scattered by the Khazars, and Great Moravia is the name of, well, Great Moravia. It would make sense for a "Great Avaria" if you choose that name.

I might just do that honestly. They've been getting picked away by the pagan Bohemians so I could easily holy war them for the land.

As for the name, I'll call it Avaria. The Bavarians will be destroyed anyways.

"the Avars", I assume it would become "Khaganate of the Avars" and "Khagan of the Avars" then.
