Name conversion in personal union?

Same christian name have different form in different language, and same monarch may have different name form and number in her territories. will EU3 represent it? f.e. If I play Louis XIV of France, conquered northern Italy, created Kingdom of Italy and got PU with it, will Italy's monarch be displayed as "Luigi I (Louis XIV of France) "?

I hope so. If not, a similar (a junior member of Louis' family) system should be put into place.

I disagree i think it could be quite possible, there only needs to be some kind of command that makes the monarch the same as the country its in personal union with.

If Personal union with X

command = {monarch = same as X}


doesnt seem to hard to me.

well in principle, since the list of possible names isnt that big.. all you need is a paralell set of names for each name, and when those are to be used instead..


Its still a real hellhole of work tho, 5 optional names for each of the (8?), 40 for each country, multiplied by some 100 nations in the least. Have fun typing in 4000 optional names... and after that checking wheter your code works or not. Ugh, but no thanks

Oh i don't doubt they'll do that. But i do not think they'll translate the name. So Stadtholder Willem III does not become King William I of England but stays as Willem. Could be i'm wrong though. It would be neat if they had some sort of conversion table.

I have seen some name form list in Wikipedia.
