So currently I am stomping my way through what is left of Indian and SE Asia, I am fairly certain I have stopped Spain and Portugal from getting into SE Asia to colonise unless they war someone and annex them, Spain's closest colony is the Cape of Good Hope, portugal is nowhere to be seen. the closest un colonised land to Spain is Western Aussie and as soon as i Diplo tech up I am going to take that.

anywho, I can now westernise, But if I westernise I cannot vassal feed my way through SE Asia, so am I better off staying Muslim until I have finished in Asia, then westernise and stomp the ottomans etc. I have around 150 provinces so coring times are absurd and probably not in my best interest.

Diplomatically, the ottomans hate me, but are not attacking me because of my allies, and probably my percieved strength.

So basically should i westernise or not.

Did you cut off Muscovy and colonize Siberia yourself?

If not you have to Westernize so you can successfully fight Russia. It just won't work as Muslim.

no but If i need to fight them, it wont be happening any time soon, its still relatively early (around 1550) and I have plenty of Asia to chew through before I worry about Russia

In my Jihad game I didnt westernize until after I had finished the achievement. Unless its necessary to fight western powers/ russia stay muslim its better. ( tough I even fought off western powers with muslim technology/units so I never had troubles in that regard.)

Cool thanks for the replies thought the best option was to stay as is for now so I can keep vassal feeding
