While modifying a scenario I have been working on for quite some time, it has decided to stop before it even loads. I'm not sure how to get the error message of why it does what it does, if anyone knows the magic key it would help, it would help even more if someone could tell me whats wrong with it.

You see, I only just put on a new kick ass frontend and expected it to load thoroughly with it and it did not, I expected this was the culprit, however, when I changed it back to the default frontend, it still wouldn't work.

I made some other quick changes before hand and hadn't tested them, just tweaks I was assured wouldn't need to be tested, such as adding new events, so I changed those back to default. I had also changed unit configurations for a newly modded country, Germany and Britain, I made sure to change those back at the start of the problem.

I feel I have missed something, or screwed something up, but I don't know what, for all I get is a black screen upon loading my dear scenario. If anyone could help, be most appreciated.

Without an error message or combing through your files line by line, this problem is nearly impossible to diagnose across the internet. But I can eliminate at least a couple of things.

The graphics and events aren't repsonsible. All you have to do to fix the former is change the image back, and the latter will give you an error message onscreen.

Sorry it's not more, but I hope that helps a bit.

I assume you have not used the game editor by mistake.
Alt-tabbing out of and back into the game will sometimes reveal an error message hidden by the game graphics.
Have you looked in savedebug.txt?

Numerous, all that I tested, however, I'm sure, but I guess I can't be totally sure, that I didn't do any that led up to the CTD itself.

Hmm... oddly neither told me anything, I never used the game editor, I know what that does. But, I checked the savedebug.txt and it doesn't tell me anything, alt-tabbing didn't either.

Well that would be unfortunate indeed, for if you did not do anything to precipitate the CTD, then what could you do to fix it?

I would switch back the original province.csv and all the rest you modified (global ones). Get it back to where it works. Then add back in one at a time a 'modded file'. Because it could be more than one file and if so, that can be maddening to uncover.
