I've thought about it, but I wondered if it wouldn't kill off my game (and thus the AAR). Does it?
you still can play that savegames with update. Just some of nation. ai switch will not work IE for Songhai, Otto etc. Only need simple modification of event list in savegame file to fix that.
See this first before modified your savegames files to make Update of MyMAP-AGCEEP run smooth in your games

Nice show. Since I've been away from EU2 (and still am) for a lot of time, didn't know about MYMAP. Good thing for me to try when I decide to come back. :D Keep it coming: Portugal shall rule the seven seas. ;)

1-1 colonist to Dominica
1-1 colonist to Barbados
1-1 colonist to Gold Coast
1-2 Venice inherits Cyprus
25-2 France is on a rampage in Burgundy, controlling 9 out of the 12 provinces and besieging the remaining 3 provs
1-3 Current situation in West Africa. Songhai, the green blob owning CoT in Timbuktu keeps conquering lands from others, especially Mali. If we ever get a land border with them, it might be worth conquering them due to the fact that they are pagans. But then again, conversion of the muslim provs will probably remain very low, at 25%. So maybe not a good idea?

Targets for 1499-1509:
- reach infrastructure technology 5 (and after that reach at least LT 5)
- further colonization of Caribbean (I can't figure why Spain only has 1 colonized province? Maybe because I quickly filled Cuba's 7 provs with TP's?)
- establish another colony in South America for explorers to use
- discover more of Asia and establish a base of operations there
- vassalize Benin (they're catholic); that is of they ever get out of the war versus Kanem-Bornu and Tripoli (Benin can't be reached, but they keep sending troops to Kanem-Bornu which are automatically slaughtered upon arrival). I think this war has been raging on for almost 20 years now.

1513? Is that ToT event? I'm no good with years  . BTW, you didn't answer my question. Can Spain steal colonies from me if we are in the same alliance?

in colonization map smallshield of Spain and portugal will appear in their ToT provs.

I think they can. The ToT allows colony theft unless you have at least a minimal fort or an army stationed there. Doesn't matter if they are allied or not.

Excellent :) . The more players, the better. This way all people contributing to MYMAP will try to make it better and better (If nobody was interested, if would die quickly). I do hope someone does an MP game within 2 months or so with MYMAP; Maybe I'll start one...

If you give them military access, then they won't steal the territories, AFAIK.

I can't give them MA by myself. They've got to ask me for MA. I did ask them for MA though and they gave it. Oh well, if it won't suffice, just a minor (in fact a major major) step back. Playing 1499-1509 session (4.5 more years to go) and have gained foothold in Asia. did I spoil the fun???
:D

BTW, just discovered how to scare off pirates (though probably everyone knows already :) ).

Part 1 of 2: 1499-1509: Portugal is on a war path and takes a big big gamble; twice!!

I split this session into two because of the amount of pics
1499 +166d (monthly income 139d)
1-1 Conquistador Afonso de Albuquerque (5-0-0-1) entered service; moving him to Cuban territory to increase success rate and decrease costs of colonization; also moving 10 warships and 1 transport to Mombasa
1-1 colonist to Guantanamo and to Virgin Isl
2-1 entered royal marriages with Tuscany and Cleves
21-4 Austria annexed Switzerland
24-5 successfully expanded colony at Virgin Isl; Virgin Isl became a city
15-7 successfully established a new colony at Guantanamo
26-7 moving 20 warships from home fleet to the Caribbean to fight pirates. There have been clear signs of increased pirate activity
18-9 Conquistador Afonso de Albuquerque arrived at Guantanamo; he apparently spend his days on board very well, since his values are now 5-5-5-1 (Prob some bug that doesn’t give correct values right at start; what a waist to put him there, but where else could I have put him?)

1500 +177d (monthly income 143d)
1-1 Explorer Pedro Alvarez Cabral entered service (5-2-2) and Conquistador F. Almeida entered service (6-4-5-2)
1-1 colonist to Guantanamo
2-1 colonist to Las Tunas
2-1 promoting bailiff at Virgin Isl
11-1 Commercial Conflict in the Indian Ocean event:
commercial1ne.jpg
[/IMG]
I was also considering option 2, the difference being merc –2 and no core on Socotra. The advantage would have been more colonists, but the disadvantage, no core on Socotra, was bigger since I need it to move deeper into Asia. Moving Conquistador F. Almeida and Explorer Pedro Alvarez Cabral to Mombasa (5-2-2) to capture Socotra.
20-1 colonist to Ciego de Avila (Conquistador Afonso de Albuquerque increases success by 25% (to almost 95%) and decreases costs by 9d (to almost 40d)
9-4 naval reinforcements arrived at Barbados. The Caribbean fleet (26-0-0) is sent on a continuous pirate patrol in Portuguese waters in the Caribbean.
14-4 attacking 3 pirate ships at coast of Barbados
1-5 naval reinforcements arrived at Mombasa. The Indian fleet is now at 15-0-1
12-5 Explorer Miguel de Corte Real and Explorer Gaspard de Corte Real entered service; ordered them to explore remaining sea zones in the atlantic
12-5 entered service
22-5 annihilated pirates at Barbados coast without taking losses; continuing patrol
30-5 Explorer Bartholomeu Diaz passed away
17-6 successfully expanded colony at Guantanamo
8-7 Colonial Pact event:
colonialpact9wu.jpg
[/IMG]
22-7 successfully established a new colony at Las Tunas
22-7 attacking 4 pirate ships at coast Antigua
16-8 successfully established a new colony at Ciego de Avila
18-9 annihilated pirates at Antigua coast without taking losses; continuing patrol
28-10 attacking 3 pirate ships at coast Trynidad
4-12 annihilated pirates at Trynidad coast without taking losses; continuing patrol

1501 +177d (monthly income 146d)
1-1 colonist to Ciego de Avila
2-1 colonist to Las Tunas
14-1 engaged pirate fleet (4-0-0) at coast Virgin Isl
19-1 tradecenter at Sevilla opened; immediately dispatched 6 merchants
20-1 colonist to Guantanamo
17-2 gained monopoly at Sevilla
21-3 won naval battle against pirates; one ship escaped towards coast Antigua; going in pursuit.
11-4 engaging pirate fleet (3-0-0) at coast Antigua
18-4 Conquistador F. Almeida and Explorer Pedro Alvarez Cabral have finally reached Mombasa
20-4 annihilated pirates at Antigua coast without taking losses; continuing patrol
3-5 loading Conquistador F. Almeida with 18.1k onto Explorer Pedro Alvarez Cabral fleet (17-0-1); as soon as they reach Socotra, war will commence
4-6 Caribbean fleet (26-0-0) engages pirate fleet (2-0-0) at coast Virgin Isl
20-6 annihilated pirates at Virgin Isl coast without taking losses; continuing patrol
24-6 successfully expanded colony at Las Tunas
27-6 successfully expanded colony at Ciego de Avila
6-7 successfully expanded colony at Guantanamo
13-7 engaging pirate fleet (4-0-0) at coast Dominica:
caribbean8ig.jpg
[/IMG]
8-8 reached Socotra island, which is totally undefended; downside is that the Mahra capital is under control of Ghara. Oh well… Portugal (alone) DoW Mahra; Hadramut dishonors alliance with Mahra.
11-8 Fleet (17-0-1) was attacked by Mahra (0-0-1); destroyed within 1 day
indianocean9uh.jpg
[/IMG]
19-8 annihilated pirates at Dominica coast without taking losses; continuing patrol
19-8 Portugal entered royal marriage with Holstein
9-9 engaging pirate fleet (3-0-0) at coast Antigua
4-10 Conquistador F. Almeida starts besieging the island of Socotra; Explorer Pedro Alvarez Cabral is sent back for supplies
16-10 1k of new recruits at Socotra attack besieging army; they’re destroyed before the sun sets
20-10 annihilated pirates at Antigua coast without taking losses; continuing patrol

1502 +177d (monthly income 159d)
1-1 colonist to Guantanamo
13-1 engaging pirate fleet (3-0-0) at coast Virgin Isl
19-1 colonist to Las Tunas
20-1 Gates of India event:
gatesofindia4pm.jpg
[/IMG]
23-1 Infidel event:
infidel5in.jpg
[/IMG]
23-1 Immediately dispatched merchants to CoT in Goa
1-2 Quarrel in Malabar event:
malabar5mk.jpg
[/IMG]
6-2 colonist to Ciego de Avila
5-3 annihilated pirates at Virgin Isl coast without taking losses; continuing patrol
2-6 engaging pirate fleet (3-0-0) at coast Virgin Isl
3-6 Conquistador F. Almeida takes control of Socotra
3-6 Portugal offers Mahra peace for Socotra (6%-6% WS); Mahra accepts. They’ll probably be immediately annexed by Ghara since Ghara controls their capital. Next year I’ll have to send a missionary (30% at 45d in 100 months) since Socotra is orthodox and my orthodox tolerance is 0.
4-6 Mahra was annexed by Ghara
17-6 successfully expanded colony at Guantanamo
11-7 successfully expanded colony at Ciego de Avila
17-7 annihilated pirates at Virgin Isl coast with 1 warship lost; continuing patrol (also sending 5 extra warships from Europe to Caribbean)
3-8 successfully expanded colony at Ciego de Avila
17-8 engaging pirate fleet (3-0-0) at coast Barbados
9-9 annihilated pirates at Barbados coast without taking losses; change of tactic, permanently stationing 5 warships in each of 5 sea zones with cities in Caribbean. Maybe this will scare the pirates off.
1-12 Baluchistan declared independence from Gujarat
2-12 Commercial conflict in Asian seas event:
malacca2ny.jpg
[/IMG]
2-12 Explorer Pedro Alvarez Cabral is attacked by pirates; ordered a retreat
11-12 Explorer Pedro Alvarez Cabral passed away

1503 +184d (monthly income 186d)
The tactic of putting 5 warships in each sea zone with cities in the Caribbean worked very well. All pirates avoided these zones. As an experiment, I'm placing 1 warship in each Portuguese seazone that has a city, in the Caribbean and Africa, instead of the 5 warships now.
1-1 missionary to Socotra
1-1 colonist to Ciego de Avila
8-1 Sultan defies our demands event:
sultan5jo.jpg
[/IMG]
I'll be using the conquistador to explore more of Malacca
(Note: suggest to “developers” to insert events concerning a country, in this case Portugal, in its event file. If not possible at least mention where event is located. I can’t ever take loans (also not by events) in this AAR, but this event and the one in India almost caught me. I was really really lucky for them to happen in January.)
2-4 Explorer Gaspard de Corte Real passed away

Part 2 of 2: 1499-1509: Portugal is on a war path and takes a big big gamble; twice!!

I split this session into two because of the amount of pics
1504 +184d (monthly income 171d)
1-1 colonist to Guantanamo
19-1 colonist to Las Tunas
28-1 Gujarat annexed Baluchistan
1-2 stability increased; now at +3
6-2 colonist to Ciego de Avila
23-2 colonist to Matanzas
17-6 successfully expanded colony at Guantanamo
11-7 successfully expanded colony at Las Tunas
3-8 successfully expanded colony at Ciego de Avila
7-9 Shirvan annexed Kakheti
10-9 I’ve been questioning to take Malabar from Vijayanagar (a country in South India with +- 25 provs, all with small fortresses). Vijayanagar has been at war for quite some time now with Delhi and with Timurid Empire + Iraq (+3 WE) and they have no armies/navies visible in their coast provs. I’ve got 16 warships and 23.1k troops at Goa under Conquistador F. Almeida (6-4-5-2) and no available reinforcements.
I decide to take a chance: Portugal (alone) DoW Vijayanagar (+Gujarat)
vijayanagarwara3ko.jpg
[/IMG]
I split the army in two and ordered Conquistador F. Almeida to go towards Malabar; the fleet is ordered to protect the coast of Goa
15-9 Portuguese fleet (16-0-1) under attack by Vijayanagar fleet (15-0-3) at coast of Goa; ordered Explorer Vasco da Gama (6-2-2), who’s just one sea zone away (1-0-0)to join the battle; what have I started?
26-9 successfully established colony at Matanzas
5-10 Explorer Vasco da Gama joins sea battle
6-10 Conquistador F. Almeida is attacked by 4k infantry at Ikkeri
17-10 Conquistador F. Almeida annihilates attacking force and loses only 0.2k
3-11 won naval battle and destroyed 2 warships without taking any loses
5-11 moving fleet into Goa and immediately outside; let’s see if the enemy takes the bait.
17-11 Portuguese fleet (17-0-1) under attack by enemy fleet (13-0-3); enemy morale at breaking point due to last battle
3-12 won naval battle; no ships sunk on either side (going to repeat trick again and again…)
18-12 Portuguese fleet (17-0-1) under attack by enemy fleet (13-0-3); seeing their morale at breaking point; I switched command to Explorer Tago (3-3-2), so that Explorer Vasco da Gama can resume exploration
24-12 Conquistador F. Almeida arrived at Malabar and attacked + destroyed 1k enemy force within the day; siege started on the 25th

1505 +202d (monthly income 184d)
1-1 colonist to Matanzas
13-1 won naval battle at coast of Goa; no ships sunk on either side
19-1 colonist to Ciego de Avila
22-1 11.6k army at Goa under attack by 3k enemy infantry
26-1 Portuguese fleet (17-0-1) under attack by enemy fleet (13-0-3); enemy morale at breaking point due to last battle
30-1 won land battle at Goa; the enemy was annihilated (WS at 10% while Malabar is worth 20%; maybe I’ll manage to get Malabar without taking any provs…)
1-2 won naval battle at coast of Goa; no ships sunk on either side
6-2 colonist to Las Tunas
13-2 Portuguese fleet (17-0-1) under attack by enemy fleet (13-0-3); enemy morale at breaking point due to last battle
23-2 colonist to Guantanamo
13-3 colonist to Granma
16-3 won naval battle at coast of Goa; no ships sunk on either side
26-3 Army at Goa under attack by 1k cavalry from Gujarat
3-4 entered royal marriage with Baden
6-4 won land battle at Goa
12-5 army at Goa attacked by 12k enemy army
2-6 won land battle at Goa, destroying 4k, but lost 2.5k in the process. I’m goint to load them unto fleet, since it’s hopeless to defend Goa as Vijayanagar and Gujarat will most likely just keep sending huge armies. If Goa falls I can only hope that the enemy will leave the prov, so that I can reenter prov to capture it back
22-6 army loaded onto fleet
2-7 successfully expanded colony at Matanzas
6-7 Portuguese fleet (17-0-1) under attack by enemy fleet (13-0-3) and Gujarat (leader) offers peace for 12d. They must be joking… WS against Vijayanagar solely at 14% (total at 15%). And Conquistador F. Almeida is finally making progress. It took him 6 months to get walls from +4 to +2
vijayanagarwarb3ga.jpg
[/IMG]
15-7 successfully expanded colony at Ciego de Avila
29-7 successfully expanded colony at Las Tunas
29-7 won naval battle and destroyed 1 warship without taking any loses
3-8 Goa is being besieged by 21k of Vijayanagar troops
11-8 successfully expanded colony at Guantanamo
2-10 successfully established colony at Granma
5-10 Besieging force at Malabar attacked by 1k enemy force
6-10 Portuguese fleet (17-0-1) under attack by enemy fleet (12-0-3)
9-10 We won land battle against Vijayanagar at Malabar; total forces besieging Goa at 31k
2-11 won naval battle and destroyed 2 warships without taking any loses
1-12 reached Trade Tech 5; switching all investmenst to reach Land Tech 4

1506 +202d (monthly income 176d)
1-1 Explorer Tristão de Cunha entered service at Mombasa

3-1 colonist to Granma
21-1 colonist to Las Tunas
5-2 Portuguese fleet (17-0-1) under attack by Vijayanagar fleet (10-0-3)
8-2 colonist to Ciego de Avila
11-3 won naval battle and destroyed 1 warships; lost 1 warship; sending 2 warships at Mombasa to join fleet at coast Goa
26-4 asked and received MA from Kongo (relation at +146)
8-6 Kongo has Afonso I converts Kongo to Christianity event: they chose convert to Christianity and receive help from the Portuguese
8-6 The Portuguese receive Kongo as vassal event:
kongo2bx.jpg
[/IMG]
17-6 successfully expanded colony at Guantanamo
23-6 successfully established colony at Granma
25-6 Portugal captures Malabar
vijayanagarwarc4jt.jpg
[/IMG]
27-6 Portugal (leader) offers Vijayanagar (alone) peace for Malabar and 50d (11% out of 24%); offer was declined
1-7 moving army under Conquistador F. Almeida to besiege Madurai
13-7 successfully expanded colony at Las Tunas
14-7 Treaty of Tordesillas event:
tot7jg.jpg
[/IMG]
19-7 Portugal started besieging Madurai
26-7 naval reinforcements arrived at coast of Goa; fleet now at 18-0-1
28-8 successfully expanded colony at Matanzas
9-9 Vijayanagar (alone) offers Portugal (leader) 2d and Malabar. We accept. The gamble has paid off!! Army at Madurai retreats to Malabar, except C. Ordered him to discover provs in India.
9-9 Portugal (leader) offers Gujarat (leader) WP (+1% WS); offer is declined. Fleet at coast of Goa ordered to pick up the other army at Malabar. Then we’ll return to smash those 6k of Gujarat troops that are looting Goa.
29-9 Portuguese fleet (18-0-1) under attack by Vijayanagar fleet (5-0-4) at coast of Malabar.
1-10 reached Land Tech 4; investments remain at Land Tech
10-10 Portugal (leader) offers Gujarat (leader) WP (+1% WS); offer is accepted.
10-10 We invited Kongo (our vassals) into the alliance. They accepted
15-10 asked and received MA from Palembang; this MA will allow further exploration of South East Asia and offers a prov from with to attack Malacca;
Conquistador F. Almeida is ordered back to Malabar
1-12 loading army under Conquistador F. Almeida onto fleet to proceed towards Palembang capital (Malacca is at war with several unknown nations to the north and Conquistador Lisboa (with 0.5k cavalry at Malacca) detected no troops in Malacca home land during exploration

1507 +202d (monthly income 187d)
1-1 colonist to Guantanamo
4-1 colonist to Granma
22-1 colonist to Las Tunas
9-2 colonist to Ciego de Avila

18-5 Conquistador F. Almeida besieges Malacca (Conquistador Lisboa disappeared with 0.5k cavalry. Why and where I don’t know???Bug???)
17-6 successfully expanded colony at Guantanamo
24-6 successfully established colony at Granma
1-7 Hungary declared independence from Bohemia
1-7 In the north there are 24k of Malaccan troops. 18k are moving north, out of Malaccan territory. Unknown what the remaining 6k will do.
malaccawara8th.jpg
[/IMG]
14-7 successfully expanded colony at Las Tunas
6-8 successfully expanded colony at Ciego de Avila
2-9 Bohemia annexed Hungary
28-10 Ormuz submits to Portugal event:
ormuzvassal9yu.jpg
[/IMG]
13-11 Portuguese fleet (19-0-1) under attack by Malaccan fleet (8-0-6) at coast of Malacca
10-12 Portuguese fleet defeats Malaccan fleet; 3 Malaccan warships are destroyed and 1 Portuguese warship is lost

1508 +208d (monthly income 229d)

1-1 moving 10k under Conquistador F.Almeida to Johor (Capital of Malacca); the rest is devided into to armies of 5k and are sent to Pahang and Perak
10-1 Malacca is ours event:
malaccaisours2ta.jpg
[/IMG]
Note: this event should also have given me 5 warships, 6k infantry and 2k cavalry. Also, the Sultan defies our demands event (8-1-1503) should have given me 10k infantry and 9k cavalry. These 2 mistakes are quite serious and should be corrected. As a “bonus” I’ve placed all warships and troops that I should have gotten (some of which should have appeared 5 years ago) at Malabar (= India) instead of Malacca, Johor and Portuguese capital. I believe this to be fair.
10-1 Portuguese fleet (18-0-1) under attack by Malaccan fleet (5-0-6) at coast of Malacca
19-1 started besieging Perak
23-1 Johor and Pahang are being besieged by Portuguese forces
24-1 colonist to Ciego de Avila
25-1 Portuguese fleet defeats Malaccan fleet and destroys 1 Malaccan warship; no losses
19-2 Portuguese army besieging Johor is attacked by 4k of recruits; by the end of the month they're annihilated
16-3 Portuguese fleet (18-0-1) under attack by Malaccan fleet (4-0-6) at coast of Malacca
1-4 Portuguese fleet defeats Malaccan fleet and destroys 1 Malaccan warship; no losses
1-5 reached Land Tech 5; investments switch to reach Naval Tech 5
3-5 Johor has fallen to our forces; we have managed to get a hold on maps which show a great deal of Asia!!!
18-5 Portuguese fleet (18-0-1) under attack by Malaccan fleet (3-0-6) at coast of Malacca
15-6 Portuguese fleet defeats Malaccan fleet and destroys 1 Malaccan warship; no losses
17-6 successfully expanded colony at Guantanamo; Guantanamo turned into a city
28-6 successfully expanded colony at Las Tunas
20-7 successfully expanded colony at Ciego de Avila; Ciego de Avila turned into a city
23-8 Mombasa cancelled the vassilization with us; they will pay. As soon as I have an army there, I will take their capital and annex them (we have CB for decades to come).
7-11 18k of Malaccan troops appeared at the northern border and they are moving south towards our troops and a total of 8k of troops are stationed at Kelantan
8-11 Portugal offered Malacca peace in exchange for the CoT at Malacca. The offer was rejected.
27-12 Malacca (leader) offers Portugal (leader) the prov of Malacca (and its CoT). We accept.

Lot of work, there! I'm playing with Portugal my first game with AGCEEP+MyMap and I'm enjoying it very much. Just a question: how do you manage to have those big pictures of the world? simply putting together a number of screenshots or using some EUtility? Thanks,
