I want Carinthia to stay Carinthia.Twoflower said:These are the renamings that seem to be agreed on for the AGCEEP's future map. Since they IMO generally are better province names, you might want to implement them in Mymap as well:
- Lusatia --> Lausitz (if you're going with local names everywhere; otherwise provinces like Oberösterreich etc. would have to be renamed)
- Thuringia --> Thüringen
- Würzburg --> Unterfranken
- Ansbach --> Mittelfranken
- Bayreuth --> Oberfranken
- Kassel --> Niederhessen
- Darmstadt --> Oberhessen
- Mainz --> Rheinhessen
- Württemberg --> Wirtemberg
- Hanover --> Calenberg
- Braunschweig --> Lüneburg
- Carinthia --> Kärnten
I can justify all of these if requested, but am too lazy right now![]()
ok, how about first option then.Phillip V said:agung pasha, according to Administration as you requested of me, MyMAP will not be able to use "dead" forums such as AGC as a base for its threads.
ups now i only modified map.Phillip V said:I e-mailed you some corrected .inc files for a few Southeast Asian nations. Mostly, it adds "known provinces" so new lands are not hidden by terra incognita.
"Sachsenland" or "Szászföld" actually would be a better name for that province. That's how the area covering that province was called as an administrative unit in the 19th century, and before at least the name of the county that Hermannstadt was situated in.almoravid said:"Hermannstadt" was spelled wrong, I remember. (I think you spelled it with one 'n').
I don't know if it was agreed on anywhere, however we could agree on it hereAlso somewhere, we agreed that it would be better to merge Ansbach+Bayreuth to Oberfranken, and use the province to split Landshut from Niederbayern (which would be renamed into Straubing), but I guess it would be better if Twoflower commented on this/provided some sketch of how the border would look like.

Ok if there is no objection i will live up Faroe then.Elio Vasa said:Far Oer borders are already created on the map ...
why losing time to create a prov from nothing?
While already in the process of redoing South Germany, you should also get rid of the connection between Tyrol and Breisgau. Gaining the connection between their Austrian holdings and the Vorlande that they always lacked was one of the most important long-term goals of the Hapsburgs during the 15th and 16th centuries. This strategic element should not be eliminated from the game by having an ahistorical connection. Therefore add the eastern part of the Breisgau province to Wirtemberg.almoravid said:Just merge Ansbach and Bayreuth.
This would be the rearrangement I had in mind:

... but somebody knowing more on Germany should comment.

almoravid said:Indeed, I always wondered why it was given to Breisgau, but I thought MKJ was more competent. I'll redraw it quickly. It means no Danube prolonged, but still it's more correct that way.
Mad King James said:The reason I drew Breisgau connected with Tirol is because there were a smattering of very small states there who weren't part of Wirtemburg or Tirol, but I didn't want Switzerland to border any German minors (who always seem to get gobbled up in the Habsburg-Swiss wars).
Also, the Habsburgs DID own a smattering of very small posessions throughout that area, and doubtlessly lorded over the microstates they neighbored.
almoravid said:This however would prohibit correct Napoleanic borders. Also, now we can have negative aggressiveness, swiss expansion will hopefully be less of an issue.
