Well then, if you take fault with his giving of deadlines, then perhaps you should say that. Of course, one would say that while there isn't a gun to his head, there definitely is pressure to give deadlines. Given that he doesn't do this for a living, then perhaps he doesn't have stock phrases prepared to quiet questions of when he'll release it.
Frankly, you sound really bizarrely demanding. "Get it out as fast as possible, but don't make any mention as to when you think you'll release it, because if you don't I'll be really disappointed."
Don't take me wrong, I love agung and appreciate the work going on. Actually, as MyMap is the only EU II mod I paly, I consider myself a huge fan. Being a modder myself, and I do have my own mods in some other games (like Civ III and IV, many graphical mods in several other games like Pirates! and I'm (an inactive) member of Victoria - VIP), I know exactly how much time consuming this thing is and no, we don't get paid.
But you also have to give some consideration to the anticipation, especially when you are leading to that. The key point is, if you are promising a specific date, you risk increasing the expectations of people who are eager to take it granted (and even make plans accordingly... like, I will download it on such time and spend the weekend playing, so let me cancel my other plans). Trust me there are people with no life like that (with me being one of them

). So, in order to avoid this sticky situation, there can be two steps:
a- giving a time frame instead of a specific date and time (like instead of saying, next release will be when thread count reaches such hit or next upload is on such day and time; this can easily be said: "we are expecting to release it within the next week or in two weeks, etc."
b- if a delay is on the way for any reason, it would be very helpful to post a note to announce it and make a brief explanation (a fatal error found on this folder; a personal matter emerged; someone did not submit such file we are expecting; bad internet connection, etc.). This would help fans understand the matter and they will also move on (instead of clicking refresh button every ten seconds).
That being said, it's only a day late and looks great so far. I will take the weekend off later today (raod-trip, yay!) and won't be playing till monday, but I'll be here with more observations and comments later on. Thanks once more to agung. :goodjob: :thumbs up: He sure has secured his place in heaven in the afterlife among some cool tigers.
