Ok. This problem has occurred to me multiple times now. I was initially not going to talk about it, but it is quite humorous.

So here is how it goes:

Another character will seduce my wife and she will become pregnant. I will run though the chain of events (the chain where I send spies to find out if she is adulterous) and it will end up being that I discover nothing, it is my child in other words.

Then, the child will be born and the legitimize, acknowledge, or ignore event will pop up. It will act as if I had a bastard child with another women, when all along it was my wife having a child with another man. If I legitimize the child, the mother is pleased (my wife) but my wife is offended and considers me adulterous. The net is -20 relations.

Overall, it turns out that your wife doesn't like it when you legitimize the children she had with another man.

Sort of like how it used to be your wife got mad when she learned you were having an affair...

With your wife...

They fixed that. Now there's something else that needs fixing...

"This bastard child, born of my wife's adulterous womb which she gave so willingly to the infirm Duke Oldmanton, with looks so divergent from my own that you know right off the bat that this saintly woman of mine had clearly tilled her garden with the seeds of another, will be so generously looked after as if it were my own, and not the result of my wife's wanton lustful adventures. ...There honey, how's that sound?"
