Dear devs,

The things I want most of all

1. A good translation into German (unfortunately this is unusual for paradox, but hope dies last)

2. That the engine will be reworked to make better usage of multicore CPU's to avoid endame lags.

3. That all texts are displayed and not cutted off.

On the subject of translations...

I wonder why paradox don’t get one of their staff to make very quick and dirty translations using translation software (with no editing, just ignore any mistakes the translation throws up as it will likely be functional with no fixing) and then just publish mods with these translations to the steam workshop.

if they publish them like this they won’t have to support them or garantee quality like they would if they make it an official part of the game.

I’m not so sure people expect professional level from everything in the steam community workshop. People Just wants things that make their lives easier or more fun.

In my opinion trippleA game companies are misguided in making everything they throw over the wall to the masses polished and professional.

Perhaps some reviewers might care about that stuff, but end users have other priorities.

Quality translation or nothing.
They threw some google translated things in the past (some CK2 patches), it was ugly and rather unrespectful.

Oh ok. I didn’t know they had tried this already. It is a shame that didn’t work out. I suppose translation quality varies a lot with different languages.

To me personally it's always been the case that playing in the original, english version is actually better because
1. It's easier to interact with the community if you are used to the game's terminology in english and don't need to check what's the official name of a parameter just to communicate anything regarding it
2. It's impossible to be subject to any of all the troublesome impacts of inadequate translations
3. You learn english i guess
I can understand why some people prefer to play on translations but to me it's just better in the long run to play on english

Official supported Translations

I think if some languages are officially supported, then they should be translated in detail and professionally. I prefer to pay 5€ more if a professional translation agency takes care of the game.

Of course multilingualism brings several challenges with it. With every DLC and every patch all languages have to be adapted. But in the end Paradox decides to go for multilanguage support. It is not right that every time the community has to create a workshop to adjust the translations.

I can understand that many years ago Paradox focus the priorities on the gameplay and not on the translations. But in the meantime Paradox has become an institution in the gaming industry and has not been an insider tip for a long time.

Especially for games that are developed from scratch, the quality should be great in all areas.

I agree completely.

Engine

Almost even more regrettable is the fact that the good old Clausewitz Engine doesn't seem to be reasonably optimized for multicore CPUs.
Everyone who has played Stellaris in the endgame understands exactly what I mean.

Multicore CPU's were introduced 14 years ago (2006). Does anybody still have a PC today that only has a single core CPU? Even mobile phones use multicore CPU's.

I have no problem with the Paradox DLC policy, and I like to spend money on useful extensions. But my money should not only be used for the creation of more and more DLC's, but also for the further development of the engine.

Please don't get me wrong, I love you Paradox and all your games! But still there are certain points that should be addressed.

Efficient parallelism is hard.

Adding efficient parallelism to a program that wasn't originally designed for it is probably harder than writing a new efficiently parallel program to the same spec from scratch.

The Clausewitz engine very obviously wasn't, given the way Stellaris, despite using multiple cores, doesn't use multiple cores well.

There is also something called amdahl's law which basically say if the application is not 100% parallelizable, the gains from additional cores will drop sharply.

Because thats is unprofessional.
And I don't mean the developers are unprofessional, so I'm sorry if people think that is what I said.
