I have one or two suggestions for EU2 so if certain people from a certain company...*AHEM*Paradox*AHEM*...pop in they can use them

1) There should be an ability to designate if you want to keep trade internal/external ie if I own Danzig CoT but my provinces send stuff to foreign Novgorod I may want to change them to Send stuff to Danzig. This could be useful because sending merchants out of country costs more so it would in the end cost less by bolstering internal CoT's and costing less to send merchants internally.

2) I think that certain nations should get Casus Belli's on others if one occuppies anothers histroical colonial areas. ie If spain colonizes Kebec then France should get a CB shield over that province.

3) NATIONALISM OUTSIDE OF EUROPE!!! There are many cases in which "nationalism" broke out in areas outside of Europe ie American Revolution, Louis Riel's Rebellion, Indian Mutiny, the total revolt of all Spanish holdings in the Americas, Afghan's revolting against the French(fairly recent but still)

4) There should be scenarios startring at certain historic points ie 1492, 1648, 1773, 1792 as well as 1419...something else would be a "Napoleon" scenario where you start in 1792 and go a little past the normal time limit to Napoleon's historic defeat...this would be fun to try and beat back a Russo-Brit-Austro-Prussian alliance (and maybe win in Russia?)

Yea, it's annoying when you take Holland, and several African Ivory dealers go to holland now, where you have no merchants and a ton of German merchants, instead of Ile de France, where you have an unrivaled monopoly.

Considering that Paradox has built in this feature w/EU1 they are probably going to put this into EU2.

2) To make things historical I agree... But if a human plays France that will once more be an easy conquest and a useful CB

3) Completely agree

4)Hmmm, if you mean different .inc files, these are already included in the present EU

First, Riel's rebellion and the Indian Mutiny are outside of the games temporal span, I believe.

Second, I'm assuming that they'll make things like the American Revolution more likely, because the Americans did have some influence on the European world order by 1820, whereas they hadn't by 1792.

Finally-the Afghans beat the British-French troops there would have been a few thousand miles off course!:D Were you thinking of somewhere else, perchance?

Agelastus I know the Mutiny and Riel Rebellion are outside of the time span but that is an example of Nationalism outside of Europe...as for the Afghan thing I meant Algeria sorry.

For the "Napoleon" thing I mean a pure Napoleonic scenario where you can play as France, Russia, GB, Prussia or Austro-Hungary and where you go slightly beyond the normal time span to include the time where Napoleons collapse occured (he won't necessarily collapse depending on how well you do)

I'm sure Paradox'll do a Napoleonic (or perhaps Revolutionary and Napoleonic) scenario. Since the game is supposed to end in 1820 that'll give you an additional five years to better him, since Waterloo wa in 1815, and the real collapse of his empire was in 1813-14.

Answer:
Well the problem was that no government was that centralized or rather held that domestic power. Even today when social security numbers, names by baptization, state regulations and even at some points Soviet State Boards deciding the future supply side of the economy has there been a success at prodding the buyer and sellers to state ends. At this time period governments new who little they knew of the ways of the markets and that messing with it often ment fiscal catastrophe. Most nation, at least Denmark, Sweden, England, France and Saxony used local tarifs and local trade taxes to nettle the fish. But to redirect domestic trade... nopsy dopsy. :)

Answer:
Pros and cons... Well on one hand you get an outcome that better represents the real outcome, but you'll do that by disarming the present game logics. I mean if Spain had colonized the Canada area (alternative history) would it then not be better for the French to colonize the Mexico area (alternative history)??? If the Spaniards had taken both before the french had made it over the Big Lake and the french had been forced to fight for any overseas property it seems to me as a Strategical Mistake to go attack relatively poor Quebec over Mexico or the Eastern Seaboard. I mean when the french first colonies Canada they thought there would be a prosperous area, but it wasn't. They drew a shorter straw than the English. However, they got goodies in the West Indies which was more important to them.
No I think it makes the openess of the game logic disorted, even if I acknowledge that there are some virtues with incentatives of going the 'historical route'.
