My two biggest issues with the game and what to do.

Honestly, it drives me mad these problems havent been touched for years.

1) division spam. Why can't we have soft cap for each country based on its population and industry. Exceeding would mean maluses to the consumer goods % and production efficency. Easy.

2) peace conferences. Lets add a "pre-turn" where each winner could select enemy states which are a priority for him to annex. These could not be taken by other winners during the actual conference. Should only be states that the winning country borders. But during this "pre-turn", countries with less war contribution would go first. High contribution countries last.

This would help if you fighting WW2 as a minor. A lot IMO.

Division spam has been a problem for ages, and the Dev still has no intention to fix it. As for Peace Conferences I guess it will get some love in future DLC, we will see.

Peace conference do need a rework (a big one) but this soltuion wouldn't help. If you need a border with a state, it means you'll never be able to claim islands this way (think of Greece wishing to recover the Dodecanese islands from Italy). Also, letting countries with low war participation go first means that in a case where a state is wanted by two nations at once, the one that participated less would be able to secure it. That would make no sense, and would encourage reducing your war participation to make sure you'll be able to secure states close by.

You pre-turns would mostly result in the same problems peace conference have now. While peace conference needing a rework is undeniable, I doubt a good solution to make them better can be described in a few lines - and that's the problems. It's easy to point out that they don't work, but most, if not all proposals to make them better I've read (or tryied to come up with myself) have been full of holes so far.

Yeah, you are right. It can't be described in a few sentences and since I was posting this on my phone, I didn't go into detail. After all, it's not my job. It's just meant as a direction they could take and work on it. Let's agree the current state is insufficient.

And I'd like to point out again it's really sad they haven't fixed this already. I'm still loyal Paradox customer, but this one bugs me.
