Here is a brief written summary of my tips:
1. Try out Filibustering in the galactic community. Filllbustering is when you push likely resolutions to the top of the que to avoid voting for resolations you don't want to pass.
2. Give play styles that used to be considered less than optimal another try (philosopher king, criminal heritage).
3. Try out new play styles (scion, hegemony, prosperous unification).
4. Ethics alignment within a federation is super important (less cohesion mean level ups take longer to get, and you may even lose levels).
5. Use Strike craft more often.
I wish I had more tips for you, but I just got my press copy a few hours ago
