I suspect some of these may have been mentioned before but I would like to put my 2 credits worth here.

  1. Sandbox mode - no unbidden, EVER. Give us the chance to get as big as we want either by war or by peace.
  2. Sandbox mode #2: No fallen empires - give us the chance to get as big as we want (with or without the unbidden)
    - Possibly a "advanced sandbox options" menu where we can check or uncheck "unbidden", check or uncheck "fallen empires", etc.
  3. binary star systems (and a later patch add trinary stars with larger "systems" involving more planets, some rotating around one star, some around both, some with irregular orbits)
  4. this may go along with #1 and 2, random event (that doesn't happen until after 200 years) collapsing stars that wipe out all systems within 5-10 light years (half the range of the initial starting wormhole diameter).
  5. a few more neutral, enemy, and "questionable" species roaming the galaxy. By questionable I mean something like the creature from Star Trek TNG episode 90 "Galaxy's Child" where the neutral creature (or pack of creatures) latches on to your ships slowly killing them (maybe as a mid game special event for certain xenophile/xenophobic builds).
  6. irregular shaped galaxies
  7. one more additional wormhole distance to be researched
  8. A fourth travel option: "folded space", A type of mix between warp and wormhole, but nothing to build. Power level 1 (small fission reactor) only allows jumps within half the distance of wormhole, but with each researched level of power opens the option for further jumps. By the time zero point is available, jumps should be able to be 50% farther than the last wormhole distance capability
  9. Solar panels #2 (6 credits) for space stations.
  10. late game "planetary sensor network" addon for the space stations, able to point at specific star systems for remote scanning like science ships do one a one by one basis (and also for spying on other empires, of course if they've researched it, they can detech these scans and where it came from).
  11. Not sure if this is a bug or to be purposely used for "linking" or a placeholder of planets, but disable the ability for creating colony ships with pre-sentient species of colonized planets... Too often they reproduce at 10 times the speed of my people and make colonizing these planets useless.
  12. "High output" mining stations (to be researched) for the rare planets/stars/etc with say 5+ of energy/minerals
I had a few more but this is just what I can think of for now...
