So i did a short campaign as Commie Bulgaria from 1936-1942 to try to get the Achievements: "I Captured the Bosporus and all i got was a Lousy Achievement", "Prussia of the Balkans" and the "Balkan Problem Solved" since u can get those 3 in one go as Communist Bulgaria.
And i found out that it's nigh impossible to flip Romania, Albania, Yugoslavia, Turkey or Greece to communist using the "Balkan Federation" Decisions and Agents to boost Communism, from 1937-1941 i kept boosting them communist, i got Romania, Turkey and Greece to 80% Communism but they didn't flip, and Romania did the "Appoint Allied and the Axis Government" Focuses which dropped the Romanian communist support to 10% almost instantly, i got Yugoslavia and Albania to 65% and again, they didnt flip, in 1942 this forced my hand to start declaring wars and...well Romania turned fascist the day before i declared war on it, so it joined the Axis and dragged them into the war but the real issue was that Romania also dragged the Allies because of the Free French Guarantee of Independence. and by that point i knew that there was no way that my weak Bulgaria with 24 7/2s, 30 factories no ships and no air force other than 47 interwar planes would ever win against both the allies and the Axis at the same time so i called it quits. i reckon that if you were to cheat, play Multiplayer or use the Game Rules to make these countries go Communist these decisions would be much more useful but in Ironman SP, it's just a waste of PP.
My Suggestions to make those decisions more worthwhile and avoid a War between Bulgaria and the entire world because of Romania would be to:
Add a Decision for Bulgaria to launch a Communist Coup in the target nations if their communist support is above 30 or 40%, or make so that the "Destabilize" Decision launches a coup after a country has reached a certain amount of Communist Support, said Coup can either end in a peaceful Transition of Power or a Civil War in Which Bulgaria can Intervene with volunteers or outright Military Intervention.
Also make France relinquish any and all Guarantees it has on other Nations after it capitulates to Germany, and becomes Free France to stop it from dragging the Allies in Wars against other nations while in the midst of a War against the Axis.
I reckon Democratic Bulgaria would face the same issue and my suggestion for fixing it would be:
Make it so that the Non-Aligned Balkan Nations can also get the "Bulgaria invites us to x Faction" event as long as Bulgaria is Democratic and the target nation has at least 10 or 20% Democratic Popularity, other than that it would be the same as commie Bulgaria, decisions to launch coups and intervene militarily in a civil-war or with volunteers.
Other small issues i had while playing Commie Bulgaria:
The Yugoslav and Greek AI love to deny the non-agression pact event and boosting relations doesn't help with them accepting it which is very annoying since you need that to get rid of the Military Restrictions, that or be in a major faction.
Suggestion for Fix make it so that the Greek and Yugoslav AI are always willing to accept the non-agression pact event from the Bulgarians as long as they have positive relations.
It is nigh impossible to turn socialist and get at least 3k free manpower as Bulgaria before the Spanish civil war ends, in the best case scenario you can do it just before Republican Spain dies.
Suggestion for Fix: either remove the 3K manpower pre-requisite, or give Bulgaria a "Secret Re-Armament" decision just like Hungary's, my suggestion would be a Decision to give a temporary National Spirit that gives Weekly Manpower and a boost to Factory Output and Military Construction Speed, the Weekly Manpower should give on total at least 20k Manpower since 15k Manpower will be consumed by the Bulgarian Army that cannot be deleted until the Army Restrictions are lifted and at least 3k free manpower is needed for the Foucs.
the "Fatherland Front" focus requires you to integrate the Agrarian Union and/or the Zveno to get the extra Communist Support, the problem is that it takes a significant ammount of PP and time to do that, and by the time you do that you already have all the communist support you'll need (granted you got the Communist Revolutionary Advisor).
Suggestion for Fix: make it so that it only needs the Zveno and Agrarian Union to have at least 60-70% Loyalty to get the extra Communist support.
Soma issues i had with borders that make my inner map painter cry in pain.
the Province #9837 in the state of Epirus #185 should be in the state of Central Macedonia #731, because rn when Bulgaria reaches peak Bulgarian Irredentism the Greko-Bulgarian border has a little bump in it in the form of the province #9837
the Provinces #657, #9635, #3076 and #687 in the state of Muntenia should become its own state called "Northern Dobrudja" in order to allow Bulgaria to claim and annex it without needing to also annex the rest of the state of Muntenia, since those provinces were also claimed by the Bulgarians in WW1, and probably in WW2 too, and if i'm not mistaken it also had a Bulgarian Minority living in those areas.
I haven't played much of Greece nor Turkey so i can't make any complaints nor suggestions for it.
OBS: I Also noticed that in the changelog we were supposed to get a Pickelhaube Infantry Division 3D Model for Imperial Germany but i did a test-run to see if it was there...and well nop, no Pickelhaube for my glorious imperial divisions
EDIT: I would also like to see the achievement "Balkan Problem Solved" also be available for Democratic Bulgaria and not only Socialist Bulgaria since both can form the UBF.
Also why can't you progress to the "Fate of the Balkans" branch as the Tsar's Regime unless you plot against Boris?, if someone wants to keep Boris as his leader said person will need to give up on reaching the "Fate of the Balkans" branch, which would be the objective of most Bulgarian Players playing the Monarchist Route, my suggestion would be to either add another focus below "Strengthen the Royal Dictatorship" that requires said focus to be taken and completed and that will lead to the "Fate of the Balkans" focus, or just make "Fate of the Balkans" unlock after taking the "Strengthen the Royal Dictatorship", Another idea would be to simply move the "Strengthen the Royal Dictatorship" Focus next to the "Form a Regency Council" Focus, make it mutually exclusive with the other 2 focuses and make the player able to decide if the Plot Against Boris fails thus unlocking the "Strengthen the Royal Dictatorship" Focus.
