My subject (crown colony) is in a coalition war without me

I seem to have fed to many provinces to mexico, so they became target of a coalition and now fight in a war.

Is this intended? If the british colonies were attacked by french colonies, I guess gb and france would have intervened, wouldn't they?

"No peace beyond the line" - colonial wars don't involve the metropolies, unless they decide to intervene.
