My ruler just decided to not be a general anymore

Playing Austria in 1.33 beta and my ruler general just went away even though my ruler didn't pass.
By recruiting him as general again I was able to get him back with the same trash stats

I have had a queens consort die 3 or 4 times as a general but not as the consort. Every time I can rerecruit him with the same stats.

Mine was in 1.32, not beta 1.33

I see. OP was talking about 1.33.
I’m not familiar with the issue you had but wondering if it’s Consort related.
