You can stuff a game with photorealistic depictions of dog vomit, but no-one in their right mind will pay to look at it.

Provided that it is realistically simulated, and it only appears after calculating how long ago the dog's owner actually fed it fresh food before leaving it to take rotten food from bins, then yes, yes I would pay for it! :p

No need to go less realistic though, than you managed in a previous game by the same company!

Again, at least they were trying before. This time it's like they went "depth = boring, we want ott flat technicolor this time"
They never tried to make it realistic (and if they did, they failed hard). And since when cartoon graphics= lack of depth? what does it have to do with each other?
Just because you don't like cartoony graphics doesn't mean its bad and shouldn't be used in games.

Sorry I guess that wasn't clear to anyone who hasn't been following Sims debacle. The graphics *in the sims 4* are shallow and cartoony at the same time. I know that it's possible to have one without the other. I think they tried to make the graphics in 1,2,and 3 as realistic as the resources could cope with at the time. Sims 4 they admitted to deliberately simplifying meshes and textures to enable the game to run on lower spec machines. We suspect it was originally going to be mobile and online, before the backlash over SimCity5
