I'm playing as Ottoman Empire in HOD v3.03 and decided to take a risk and wage war against UK for making Greece my puppet to avoid further crises generated by Greece. I've managed to make Greece my puppet after the war Greece is still causing crises and demanding my cores!?

I find this really frustrating and ridiculous. Why would a PUPPET cause a crisis against its MASTER???

Making a country puppet is not cheap. Crisis are caused by governments so a puppet government should not do such a thing. Greek people might revolt and overthrow the puppet government and appoint a schemy government. Other than this dont make sense!

Altough it does seems weird at first, you need to understand that your puppet government might not have anything to do with it at all.Greeks in your country would rather live in puppet Greece than not living in Greece at all.

To clarify: Greece doesn't have to use their NF to provoke crisis, it might happen because Greeks in OE are rebellios so they create the crisis on their own.

That makes sense. By the way, since I've made Greece my puppet, there's been 3 crises and after the day the crisis erupts it suddenly fails to take interest. I guess making them a puppet might have an effect like that.

I like to think of crises not as something done by a belligerent nation but a situation spiraling so much out of control for the great powers to step in to mediate. Think of it, as a non-great power you have no influence in the outcome of crises and while you can help cause them they can also happen without your influence. You most likely had a huge Greek liberation movement and as a role-playing justification it makes sense that in order to prevent bloodshed and revolution the great powers step in.

Thanks for brainstorming. In fact, Greek liberation movement is very little or none at the moment.

Regardless of the causes that break out the Otto-Greek crises I'm certain that puppeting Greece works! Since I've puppeted them there've been 7-8 crises and all of them failed to take interest of any GP in two days! So, my efforts were worthwhile to keep Ottoman Empire in peace!

The problem is that the crisis system is solipsistic. The crisis manager selects somewhere as a hot spot, and that place will remain a hot spot until the crisis manager gets bored and moves on. The presence of a national focus or liberation movement can help attract the manager's attention if it isn't already fixated on somewhere else, but once an area is targeted there is nothing that will dissuade it.

I'd never thought of puppeting the other guy, though. It makes sense, the AI doesn't want to "help" you by enforcing your puppets demands.

Seems like an Expliot to be honest since I dont think your supposed to be able use a get out of crisis for free card by puppeting Serbia, and Greece as the Otto's. It'd make more sense that if this went to the international community, independence for the greek government would be tacked on in addition to the land as the demands.
