First of all, all the best to everyone in EU4 community, moderator and dev team. The past 7 years of EU4 development showed that it is indeed one of the best games PDX ever released and created great community around it.
There are, of course, a lot of problems, some would say that too much problems with 7 year old game. Some design decisions were bad, some design policy was heavily criticized by community. And yet, I find myself still wanting to play EU4, because this game managed to achieve something more than any other PDX game released after 2013. Maybe it's just because of my taste...
Allow me then to express my list of "wishes" for EU4 in 2021:
- Less new mechanics, expand existing ones!
- One big (HUGE!) bug-fixing patch
- One big (EVEN BIGGER) polishing patch that would revamp many mechanics and maybe tie them to each other (currently almost every mechanic exists in its own microuniverse, like innovativness.
- Attention should be given to improving UI on some less common resolutions (as many players have problems and complain about it on forums)
- We should return to good old days when developers were very active on this forum. Maybe it's not of the first importance but it gives many of us (me included) a sense of being heard and taking part in the dialogue about the game. Long time ago (when Wiz and then Jake were directors) community was, IMO, more important to developers (do you rememeber "Arumba patch"?)
- I think that 1/1,5 year cycle for DLC is good model but we desperatly need more little patches and hotfixes between DLCs.

So, let 2021 bring us even more joy from EU4, even more sales for the managment and even more joy from working on EU4 for the devs.

May 31st December be the end of your sorrows (both in game and IRL) and 1st January 2021 be the beginning of your joys. Happy New Year!

May they in 2021 invent an "Observer mode" time traveling, so that anyone and everyone can get their historical facts straight.
