My new cruiser is outdated, why?

Just reserached 1940 cruisers. couldn't find my new CL. so I ticked show outdated. Then it showed up
Added equipment, and when I produce it the game says its outdated equipment, why?

You probably misclicked the little circle right next to the cost it takes to produce those ships. That circle will make any model, new or not new, outdated / or not outdated. Happens sometimes.

But it was outdated before I did anything. When research was done I couldn't find the level III CL until I clicked show outdated.. But guess it doesn't matter. I clicked the little cirlce and now it doesn't say outdated. Thanks
