For hundreds of years, after the fall of the last Roman empire, has the italian peninsula been the site of countless invasions by just about everyone, even the French king Charlemagne occupied almost half of Italy, until his empire collapsed after his death.
And so it was, that in the first part of the 20th century, a humble man would rise up, and lead his people to the next great age of Rome, an empire that would span from continent to continent, and which would stand the test of time for the next 5.000 years, until Earth along with all of it's inhabitants are annihilated by the Vorlons in their mad quest for galactic domination.
Shortly after the beginning of year 1936, the Italians, under their godlike leader Mussolini, began a campaign to aid their nationalist comrades in the spanish civil war. The Italians were able to capture roughly half of the entire spanish peninsula, and the Spanish north african holdings near gibraltar. After this, Mussolini turned his eyes east, to Yugoslavia. When his armies crossed the borders, there were but a few badly armed and organized brigades opposing them, and they were qickly swept aside. Alas, it would not be the end. for some reason, the German leader Hitler went quite mad, and declared waron Italy, followed by Greece and Turkey. The French in turn, declared war on the Germans, and kept most of the Wehrmacht at bay, at the Maginot line.
The invasion of yugoslavia continued regardless of the German and other interventions, and soon, the Italian armies had encircled 12 divisions, over half of the entire Yugoslav army.
The war continues....
