1 - Extensive side quest content
I feel that having only one story line is quite lacking, I believe the game should have more side quest content, for example:
* Mercenary Nemesis and / or Bounty hunters
A rival mercenary company is jealous of your success and starts to plot traps against you, or group of pirates, tired of having their assets destroyed, hires a group of bounty hunters to attack you find this out after a supposed easy mission turns out to be much harder than it should, instead of fighting 4 to 12 enemies, you would face something like 8 to 20, then you do a few missions to find out more details, like, why did two factions attack you at the same time, sounds fishy, after following the trail of clues you end by attacking the Nemesis company headquarters, on which you have a choice, to hire the surviving mercenaries, or kill them all to 'send a message'.
* Extra events
Considering the amount of equipment you come across, there should be events where merchants offer to buy some kind of rare equipment, like weapons or armors you have, or sell something rare.
Alternatively, there could be inspections from the local authority of the system where they find the tech to be 'too advanced' or 'too valuable' or something of the sort, and fine / try to confiscate it, these could be either oficial government representatives, or pirates/smugglers trying to double-cross you.
2 - Re-balancing
* I strongly feel head injuries are far too common, to try and address this, I'd like to suggest that mechs should have a default defense against head injuries, similar to the cockpit module, for example:
- light mechs would have 0 base defense against head injuries.
- medium mechs would have 1 base defense against head injuries.
- heavy/assault mechs would have 2 base defense against head injuries.
* Something else that I believe is not adequately balanced are L Lasers ER L Lasers and M Pulse Lasers overhead absurdly fast without dealing enough damage to justify this extra heat, they should either have their heat reduced or damage increased.
3 - Interface
* I would like to be able to save loadouts to copy or modify multiple mechs more easily
* The star map should have more details on the start, info that you could turn on and off, like level of challenge of the system, availability of store or not, etc.
* Be able to disable the messages regarding experience to mechwarriors, this becomes useless after you have two teams of mechs at max level on all skills, the message continues to show up even when you don't have any more points to progress.
