Having played all 4 demo nations for a few days, there are a few bugs and design issues I would like to see fixed for launch, or soon after
- Naval exploration does NOT increase Navy Tradition, as the tooltip clearly states
- Loading an army into a transport fleet does not select the fleet, as it did in CK2 and MotE. Meaning, you have to load army and then select the fleet and then issue move orders, instead of just loading army and then issue fleet move orders. It's no biggie, but it's inconvenient and not in line with previous Paradox games. I doubt this is WAD, looks like an oversight.
- The game crashes once in a while, no idea why and can't reproduce it. Wouldn't be too bad if we could save, but since we can't, it's very annoying: haven't been able to play a whole campaign yet, always crashes after a few hours.
- Playing as Portugal, I declared war on Morocco. After beating their army, I started a siege on most of their provinces, but they managed to build a small army and sieged Ceuta, where I had a missionary active and a high revolt-risk. Took me maybe a month to assemble a small army to go and attack them and the siege was still at -40% or something. The problem is that by the time my army got there, Ceuta now belonged to Morocco. I didn't get any warning, they didn't win the siege, it wasn't occupied, no rebels popped up... it just defected to Morocco without a warning. Can this be WAD?
- Again playing as Portugal: the 2 colonies you start with (The Azores and Cape Verde), get a core automatically once finished colonizing, but further colonies don't, you need to create a core. Something feels off here: you either ALWAYS get a core or NEVER get a core, this just feels strange. Unless it's because those 2 don't have any natives and the others I colonized afterwards do?
EDIT: remembered another bug, big one even: the message for armies/navies arriving at destination is not working, meaning, no matter what you select (i always have it for popup and pause), you never get a warning for a unit arriving at the destination. PLEASE fix this for release, it's really bad, especially for an explorer fleet that just stays there getting attrition if you forget about it (if you're busy during a war for example)
Well, I'm pretty sure i'm forgetting other minor bugs, but these are all that come to mind. Will add more here if I remember.
All and all, and after the initial shock at all the changes, the game is looking pretty good, can't wait to start playing the release =)
