So the latest play-through I started up with Reaper's Due has a few odd quirks. The newest and most bizarre are people within my kingdom randomly killing characters not within my demesne. It started while I was a king within the Byzantine Empire. I was originally free, but the Byzantine Empire had a lot of counties within Italy I wanted and I figured it would be easier to swear fidelity and take them from within and then leave instead of fighting the empire as a whole over and over.
So it began with a wife of mine doing it....killing random, unimportant characters spread throughout the Byzantine Empire. By the time she died she had at least a half-dozen. My next wife picked up where the last left off and continued randomly killing unimportant characters that had no connection to my kingdom. A short time passed, but now I have a duke within my kingdom doing the same thing again. Same modus operandi as the first two times it happened.
None of these characters have high intrigue, nor did any of them have an intrigue focus. None of them were possessed or had any other stand-out negative traits that would drive them to take up being serial killers as a hobby. Am I missing something? Is there some new event or situation that will cause NPC's to do thins behavior? Anyone else have this happen to them in their games? Any information would be helpful.
