I've never been one who actually creates the mods, but boy do I love to use them.
Anyway, here are some basic mods that I would love to see some talented individuals figure out how to implement.
1. The Zombie mod: We need a horde mode. Now that we can make custom models and textures, we need some sort of mod that creates a division filled out with zombies and possibly larger creatures that can absorb firepower. Perhaps this can be tied into Stalin's super soldier program? There's no better feeling than gunning down hordes of mindless monsters. Maybe just modify a unit's weapon range to 1 meter and remove the gunfire effect? Perhaps this will suffice?
2. The free camera: this is a no-brainer, and it confuses me as to why it's not in the game at least in replay mode. I have always fancied to take this a step further, to have an option which locks the camera to eye height and moves at a man's running pace with camera shake, plus an option for Field of view adjustment and black-and-white filters, so we can shoot out very own war footage.
3. Realistic tracer rounds: Simply reduce the size and appearance of rounds to more realistic proportions, and remove bullet trails completely. It will make the game much harder to play, but some of us like the realism! This is a beautiful game which is marred by gameplay oriented graphical designs. Give me an option at least.
4. Place-able bunkers in deployment zones: static concrete defenses for cautious commanders who want to be able to fall back into safety. Bunkers should be immune to all but high caliber off map artillery and direct cannon fire.
5. Great War mods: I will bet this is possible. Not knowledgeable enough to give solid ideas but I'm sure someone around here is.
