Spent some time getting to know DD in the last few weeks, and I have enjoyed the game.

Some good stuff:

Love the new production slider, it is nice to set priorities and let the AI assign production in the most effecient manner. Far far better than the trillion updates it felt like I had to make before.

Love the concept behind the Intel system.

Love the CVLs

Love the reworked subs

Love the escort fighters being used as brigades rather than divisions.

Love most of the AI work

In short, a lot to like. But I have some ideas for improvements as well.

1) Hows about extending the production help to diplomacy and Intel. Let me designate targets and the AI can spend until I'm broke.

2) Manpower could be helped some as well. Seems no matter how long the war goes on No major power seems to run out (I have modded my game to try and account for this but half-buttocked efforts are nowhere near as satisfying as when a pro thinks about it.

3) Surrender events need some help.

4) US AI seems to balk at invading Western Europe (may be due to the mods I just mentioned)

Thanks for a great game P-dox, I'll keep spending money on you guys!

I think the next update should offer an option between Hoi2 Vanilla experience system or Doomsday experience system ( i mean gain of experience ).

Micromanaging divisions could be boring for some, but if you play minors, the new experience system is a disaster...

Doomsday is a game, not a simulator...

diplomatie that is wad
the graphic that are wrong (Moscau with the sea forts is a bit funny.... but not aceptable)

I agree with most of the above statements.

BTW has anyone ever noticed that in HOI 2 and in DD that Dunkirk has a naval port, but it never shows, you cant deploy there, you cant rebase there, but if you click on it, it says lvl 3 (I think).

- bring back escort fighters as units (rename them, if you want), but keep the attachment-system for planes and add a few (nightfighting equipment/radar, etc.)
- leader exp. (generally and esp. for convoy raiding)
- rework events (surrender events don't work since HoI 2 v1.0)
- rework intelligence (remove this silly system of deploying up to 10 spies...)
- (and many other things, already listed in several threads on this forum)

You're right!!! Never noticed it...

In my game as SU, Nationalist China have about 400 infantry divisions (and some 80 mountain divisions). It's in 1943 I think, and I, myself have something like 700 troops of different kinds, being the most powerful country in the world. I wanted to see what Nat. China was like, and how they had managed to get such a huge army, so I loaded the game and chose to play as them. They had over 3000 manpower, and still they have close to 500 divisions
also note that they haven't researched any of those manpower technologies either
They have control of "original nat. china", parts of Guangxi Clique, and Manchuria... is it possible to have that much manpower, and to have that many troops?
I (SU, as I said) have 150-200 something manpower, and I have researched all except for the two last manpower researches.

One of the problems with this is the incredible LAG that so many divisions around the world ends up giving you by the 1950s. I know some of the mods have played with the manpower system but I have not been following to see how it has worked out.

I think some kind of tweaking of the reinforcement manpower costs could help but vanilla has such a long and troubled history with the issue that I'd be frightened to even try messing with it.

The thing that bothers me the most is that I've never seen partisan activity in a computers provinces, especailly their starting provinces.

I think India should have a giant partisan activity level. And instead of it just going down because of Englands open society, and democratic stance, it should increase. There's that event where you have the option of liberating them but there's no real point. The event should recure every few months, if you don't liberate them partisan activity spikes and dissent increases. Since the British people were rather unhappy with the governments policy of constantly sending more troops to Italy to stem the revolution.

Loose dissent, or loose a front on Japan. It would make England a bit more realistic.

Doomsday is by far the most realistic grand strategic game on the market. It doesn't really matter whether you call it a "game" or a "simulator". Since there is no real "goal" in Doomsday, I'd say that it's more of a simulator than a game.

I would like to see GG's "War in the Pacific" done on an entire
global scale. Everything from top to bottom ( from strategic
to tactical). And have monthly meetings to discuss and impliment
policy like they did in Koei's "PTO2" game. More leader personnel
descriptions on past & present history. AND THEN, be able to drop
into a tactical game setting when forces meet. (like SH3 when subs
attack surface ships) (DC when surface forces see each other)
IL2 when air forces do battle) (and a good ground combat game
when meeting troops or vehilcles) Am I thinking too far ahead?

Actaully, I would like to see them do WWII online where you could take over places and win the war. Every MMO I play, nothing matters, wait a few minutes and everything respawns. Have players get promoted and guilds would be companies. As they get bigger, go to battalions, brigades and such. Could make an air division, naval, or land. Have your actions on the battlefield actually count for something other than a bigger +5 trinket of stupidity. How cool would it be to get promoted to general and command an entire section of the eastern front?
