Hi All and Devs

First of all i would like to take this opportunity to say Thanks to Paradox for this awesome news. Below i would like to add my 5 cents for Cities: Skylines

Good Stuff:
- Awesome UI, neat and clean. All menus are on the right place. (love it)
- Larger area to build an actual city (love it)
- Water flow and simulation (this is so awesome)
- Districts , wow :)
- Real time people simulation and intelligent AI (have been waiting for this for a long time)

Suggestions:
- Water Pump from the ground - Its great that we can use river to get water but pumping water from the ground would be awesome (also underground water level should drop monthly)
- Timer and speeds - In alpha version i saw that one TICK is one day in the game (where 1 tick takes about 3 seconds) That is too fast. Please change it to Hourly ticks. The reason

3 seconds (real time) = 1 Day (game time)
1 hour (real time) = 1200 Days / 3+ years (game time)
which means if we count 60 years as an average age , a person will be born and than die within 18 hours of game play

Building Expansions - I would like to see expendable buildings such as ability to add another classroom in schools (or add different educational department) or increase the number of treatment rooms in hospitals. Just having one standard building (undependable) wont be realistic.

Power and water lines - Loved the idea of dragging power-line from anywhere to anywhere although ROADS should automatically have power/water lines underneath them. To go one road to other we can use the idea of road-less power-lines but it would be great to have power/water lines built-in to the road as well.

Graphics - I watched the game play of an alpha version of this product, although please please improve the graphic such as look and feel for roads, terrain and add variety of buildings + cars. The best feeling i enjoy is THE LOOK OF MY CITY , makes me feel good about my effort put into it :) Also i believe graphic, layout and other design related components will improve such as traffic simulation etc so i hope for the best without further to say :)

Government Buildings - Not sure if i have missed it but i haven't seen any government building in the game such as Town house etc

Power/water/sewage simulation - You guys might think i am weird but i love the effect of Power/Water/Sewage flowing underground. If possible can we please add that please please :) it also tells you when the power or water will reach its destination etc or where the sewage is getting blocked etc.

Bigger Roads - It might be alpha or my eyes but i see even the biggest road looks too small. Is that just me?

Capacity - I am not sure if i have missed that but will there be any way to check how much Power etc i need and how much i am generating? here expending the existing power or water plant will be awesome to meet my city requirements without having to build another power plant.

The last thing, city night mode. in the alpha version i havent seen the night mode.

Please comment
Cheers

I have pretty different opinion of this :) I want to play slow (slower) to get to enjoy my people in the city. I want to see them grow old slowly so i can see more of them in details such as going to school, college, uni and then work. I like the idea of "1 hour real time = 1 day game time" by NZ above. (Along with the option to speedup the progress)

But with the realistic design the devs are going with (or at least i think they are) where people get educated while they are young you would have to play for +3000 hours before a new school would have an effect.
I prefer it like it is now.

First of all, a great congrats to your team for bringing this fabulous game with great expectations. with the reviews and initial trailers only Ive become a core fan

to this :) I have few suggestions though (this is my first time Im openning an account for any game and giving suggestions, since I really believe, You guys just

rock..)

No suggestion on the simulations since I'm a pretty dumb-ass in that area and you guys are all expert. My suggestions are mainly on zoning and departments/UIF.

Zoning:
There will be two types of assignments of an area:
a)as a district in an existing city
b)as a new city

when assigning as a new city, its a new ditrict as well, and the new city consists of that district only. later on we can add new districts to this city.

Option to merge and split Cities/Districts.

Along with the current highlighted/paint spay style city/district zone defining, could you please make it possible like, point to point select zoning with straights

and curves. I mean, eg, an colour line option, like you create roads, to start a point and follow the existing road structures and finally end at the start point. The

area within will be a district. Its just a overlay of coloured line.

Departments and User Interface:
On the main game screen, there will be four icons, a)Build, b)Policies, c)Reports and d)Options/Menu

For the departments I mean like the Sim-City, that any city has certain departments/Ministries, like, Planning, Finance, Education, Industries, Agriculture,

Healthcare, Securities, etc. You have all the buildings and policies for these already in the game, I just suggest it to be organised. All departments, along with

their respective buildings, with have departmental buildings as well (Only city hall can't serve any real city, unless its a small town or village)

Departmental buildings will be of different sizes like the city hall and any City/district can have max one of each departmental building. Each sizes will unlock its

other various buildings and policies.

The structure will be same for all a)Build, b)Policies, c)Reports.

Build --> Dep1, Dep2...
Polici --> Dep1, Dep2...
Build --> Dep1, Dep2...

For example, let us consider the Education department:

Build:
Departmental buildings: (of different sizes, unlocked at varrious poulation size and unlocking various features)
Elmentary School buildings:
High School Buildings:
College Buildings: (Regular and Technical)
University Buildings: (Regular and Technical)
Other Educational Buildings (Library, Gym, Sports, Pool etc)

Policiies:
All Educational Policies

Reports:(poulation, # of buildings, requirements (excess/deficit) etc
either All Educational reports together or
Elmentary School Reports:
High School Reports:
College Reports:
University Reports
Other Educational Buildings Reports:

All Policies/Reports will be at City/District level

Following are the other departments:
a) Finance: (Budget for all other Departments, Loans, etc)
b) Planning: ( City/District Asssignments, Residential/Commercial/Industrial etc zoning etc)
c) Transport: (Road/Rail/Air/Water, within/between regions)
d) Education:
e) Heathcare:
f) Security: (Police, Fire. military etc)
g) Agriculture:
h) Industries:
i) Commerce:
j) Utilities: (Electricity, Water, Swerege, Landfill, Citi beautufication etc)

Another request, a special type of residential zoning, reserved only for the workers in the departmental main and sub buildings, like Education department, and school

workers. This is keeping in mind one of the simulation aspect in the game, each person works at a specific building and stays at a specific house.
