Hi All and Devs

First of all i would like to take this opportunity to say Thanks to Paradox for this awesome news. Below i would like to add my 5 cents for Cities: Skylines

Good Stuff:
- Awesome UI, neat and clean. All menus are on the right place. (love it)
- Larger area to build an actual city (love it)
- Water flow and simulation (this is so awesome)
- Districts , wow :)
- Real time people simulation and intelligent AI (have been waiting for this for a long time)

Suggestions:
- Water Pump from the ground - Its great that we can use river to get water but pumping water from the ground would be awesome (also underground water level should drop monthly)
- Timer and speeds - In alpha version i saw that one TICK is one day in the game (where 1 tick takes about 3 seconds) That is too fast. Please change it to Hourly ticks. The reason

3 seconds (real time) = 1 Day (game time)
1 hour (real time) = 1200 Days / 3+ years (game time)
which means if we count 60 years as an average age , a person will be born and than die within 18 hours of game play

Building Expansions - I would like to see expendable buildings such as ability to add another classroom in schools (or add different educational department) or increase the number of treatment rooms in hospitals. Just having one standard building (undependable) wont be realistic.

Power and water lines - Loved the idea of dragging power-line from anywhere to anywhere although ROADS should automatically have power/water lines underneath them. To go one road to other we can use the idea of road-less power-lines but it would be great to have power/water lines built-in to the road as well.

Graphics - I watched the game play of an alpha version of this product, although please please improve the graphic such as look and feel for roads, terrain and add variety of buildings + cars. The best feeling i enjoy is THE LOOK OF MY CITY , makes me feel good about my effort put into it :) Also i believe graphic, layout and other design related components will improve such as traffic simulation etc so i hope for the best without further to say :)

Government Buildings - Not sure if i have missed it but i haven't seen any government building in the game such as Town house etc

Power/water/sewage simulation - You guys might think i am weird but i love the effect of Power/Water/Sewage flowing underground. If possible can we please add that please please :) it also tells you when the power or water will reach its destination etc or where the sewage is getting blocked etc.

Bigger Roads - It might be alpha or my eyes but i see even the biggest road looks too small. Is that just me?

Capacity - I am not sure if i have missed that but will there be any way to check how much Power etc i need and how much i am generating? here expending the existing power or water plant will be awesome to meet my city requirements without having to build another power plant.

The last thing, city night mode. in the alpha version i havent seen the night mode.

Please comment
Cheers

I like the idea of drawing water from the water table (That might actually be there - there is a water tower in the game). However, I do not like the idea that the water table will drop and "run out", like in simcity. Please don't limit the lifespan of my city like that, since ground water does not permanently dry up like that. However, what would be a good idea is if the amount of water generated by the water spawners are variable. That way you could have occasional floods and droughts.

Time- I don't remember which City builder it was - I think it was SC4 - but why not superimpose a day with a month? The day will be for the purposes of traffic simulation - and the month will be for the budget. That way, everytime the traffic simulator complated a day's traffic, a budget month has passed. It seemed to work quite well.

Powerlines & Pipes. This is an old SC4 feature, and though one could put power and pipes in the roads, I love the fact that you have to do this manually. Having those high voltage powerlines in your city does make it look more realistic.

Building Expansions - I prefer the way Simcity2000 dealt with ports and airports: Make them zonable as well. That way, the buildings can pop up themselves as they are needed, and each one will look unique. I always wished they expanded this logic to schools, hospitals, police stations and other service buildings as well.

Government Buildings - Town halls would be nice. I'm also missing suburban churches.

Sry didn't reply, because a "review" for a game that isn't even out yet doesn't really make sense ;D.
Most of those topics are discussed in other threads, but in short - water simulation is a new thing, we'll see how it works :). Day/night cycle is on the list, not going to be there on launch though. Modular system aka expansion is very cool imho, one of the best things about SC2013. But there is a different system for funding in this game, we'll see how fun it is. Power lines under every street is very convenient, but C:S is just going a more realistic way than SC, in real world most roads don't have power lines in them ;). No point in discussing graphical details until the game is released. CO seems to be doing a good job at providing data to the player, hopefully power consumption will be among those :).

This should definitely be considered by the devs

I agree with the "time" part, when I watched the you tube videos I was thinking to myself that is WAY too fast...
An idea would be to have a slider in settings that will let the player decide what the slow time is, that way if someone wants it very slow then slide the slider all the way to the left and if they want it faster then move the slider to the right.
Personally I would like to see 1 hour real time = 1 day game time as an option. :)

Wow that is a marathon you're wanting :D I LIKE IT!! :D Could get a bit boring though from time to time. Buildings taking forever to build.

yes, but you still got the ability to speed up the game if you think it taking too long to build things, I like actually watching things build...

Same here. If someone thinks the game is too slow, they could always press the fast forward button, but if someone thinks the game is too fast, there's nothing they can do.

Yeah, when I play this type of stuff, I like to progress slow. I like to take it in and get all the details. I want every street and every alleyway to be perfect the way they should be. So, normally I play in slow speed, just cause it looks good and because I don't need the game to go fast. When I need some money, I speed up the game and wait for the cash to flow in. But when I'm doing something that takes time, I put the speed to normal, and do whatever I want to do.

For example, I've been playing a bit of ETS2 lately (Euro Truck Simulator 2) and I try to avoid cities and roads that I've not been to yet, because I want to progress slowly, I want to take it all in, and get the most out of the game.

I think that's pretty reasonable since people do die in the game and mostly get education when they are young (unless i misunderstood something) a slower option may be good though.

I have pretty different opinion of this :) I want to play slow (slower) to get to enjoy my people in the city. I want to see them grow old slowly so i can see more of them in details such as going to school, college, uni and then work. I like the idea of "1 hour real time = 1 day game time" by NZ above. (Along with the option to speedup the progress)
