That's what I said, but you can't make you heir take wows (become a monk or nun) unless they are imprisoned.Isn´t it easier just to make them monks then?

I believe you said land them a temple ;-) not the sameThat's what I said, but you can't make you heir take wows (become a monk or nun) unless they are imprisoned.
Well you can't land them a temple if they are your direct heir, so to land them you first have ti have them take the wows. Landing them is just to make sure they don't show up at the head of a host invasion after a decade or so.I believe you said land them a temple ;-) not the samebut seems we agree on it
didn´t know they could do that, thought they would lose that ability aswell...Well you can't land them a temple if they are your direct heir, so to land them you first have ti have them take the wows. Nope, that said in either case they can still be installed by faction demand.didn´t know they could do that, thought they would lose that ability aswell...
Had some quite interesting outcomes when my genius heir died and early and left me what I believed was a bad heir... When he was educated and with focus, he actually outbested the genius in most stats... RNG can be a blessing aswell as a bitch![]()
You can have some great geniuses, but RNG can be a bitch... As stated, I have had some great stats without the trait... but genius has become even harder to gain, so I don´t really hope for it anymore... Also because I know the luck about it... Whenever I get one, he dies before he can take the throne or dies shortly after ;-)Genius is always misleading, 9/10 if you take away the genius trait the person is really crappy or mediocre at best
I had a problem one time with a son who, despite being the child of two Geniuses, had the Imbecile trait. Especially galling since his younger brother was both a Genius and set to inherit Byzantium. Thankfully, the oldest son wanted to be spymaster when he came of age and wouldn't you know it, my previous spymaster had just gotten himself assassinated for cuckolding one of my dukes, so I gave him the job and sent him to spy on Constantinople. Repeatedly, since my then-wife only took his eyes the first time.
I had a number of geniuses with 20+ Diplomacy AND 20+ Stewardship.Genius is always misleading, 9/10 if you take away the genius trait the person is really crappy or mediocre at best
Elective is a bitch too. I have no idea why my vassals started a faction for it. Before that they had the chance of having a weak liege and break me apart. Now they have a genius liege after another one, with occasional genius+attractive or genius+strong ones. You can have some great geniuses, but RNG can be a bitch... It's OK for AI to occasionally become elected, as long as they are all of your dynasty.elective is for AI to become electedit's determined the least restrictive and lowest tier of succession law

True... Though sometimes a major revolt is not very well-liked when you are in fragile state anyway ;-) You can game the elective for most parts also... Get the heir you want over gavelkind and eldest son (who is bad)... Personally prefer gavelkind for some reason...It's OK for AI to occasionally become elected, as long as they are all of your dynasty.
Also, I find unpopular rulers get better successions. Unpopular rulers usually start their rules with a faction war, which enables them to replace half of their vassals and gain a hefty "crushed a major revolt" bonus. Afterwards all you have are happy vassals voting for whoever you want. And by using focuses the said unpopular rulers can usually get rid of the traits that made them unpopular in the first place.
Popular rulers, on the other hand, don't have the opportunity to do the same without incurring huge tyranny, and tyranny is harder to get rid of than bad traits :|
