Got this general who improved through a few events and I've realised I've never had anything this great before. The siege 5 and also +15% siege ability. Added to that I've got offensive ideas.
Anyone else want to share their god generals?

I did a campaign as Utrecht.
You can hit the minimum 3-days siege time with them.

20% army professionalism
20% offensive ideas
10% offensive-innovative policy
10% utrecht ideas
20% spy network
15% general trait

It is even easier now, as you can have another 20% off divine-espionage policy.

At this point the game just breaks. You can siege so incredibly fast that you don't need to fight battles.
You will be raking in army tradition from the constant ''+2's'' from sieging forts.

Genius. I guess I can have all that except Utrecht ideas. My professionalism is only in the 60’s now. I did notice in my last war sieged we’re going so quick. It’s a good thing to stack.

Those 20 pips in 1559 are insane. But still right now it's way much easier to get generals like him. Maxing army tradition from innovativness and estates privileges + reducing cost of general to 7 MIL means You can recruit dozens of them and keep the best while dismissing others.

Fun fact.
Army professionalism effects don't reset immediately when recruiting mercenary companies.
So you can hire a merc company, cheaply buy 5 generals and be at 100 army professionalism again.

Which is great with the current loads of easy army tradition you can get.
An easy 3 army tradition yearly without national ideas or idea groups...

So Utrecht opening Innovative -> Offensive -> Espionage -> Divine ?

I did that campaign last patch. Divine ideas wasn't in the game then. I did Inno > Espionage > Offensive

But in the current patch you can probably skip on Innovative and go Divine ideas instead.

The reason I tried that combination is that I wanted to see if Innovative and Espionage are really that bad. It turns out it worked rather well.
You get these insane siege times paired with dirt cheap level 5 advisors.

The best pips possible are playing as Nobunaga.
I think Qara Qoyunlu is the only other nation that provides +3 general pips.

The maximum obtainable without ideas is 17 pips.
Offensive takes that to 19 pips.
Defensive to 20
Aristocratic to 21
Inno-offensive to 22

It is thus possible to get max level generals with a lot of rerolls.

Yes in this game I took innovative first and espionage 4th. I immediately took the three estates that gave monarch points and have farmed power projection all game. This means I’ve had + 6 mana a month since the beginning.

The result is I’m full innovative for ages and tech lead constantly. With espionage for any nation that isn’t ‘lucky’ they have zero spy detection against me. Spy network stacked with offensive ideas and good generals men’s you almost negate forts.
For forward planning it’s actually a decent idea. As Prussia I have minus 10% AE and from espionage another minus 20%. That’s significant when you’re trying to conquer all of Germany.
