My game is crashing

The event seems to be random. I will load up a saved game, play it for a while and then it will suddenly crash on me. It usually happens while taking action with some sort of naval unit. Once it happened when I was trying to move naval units, another time when I tried to rename a fleet..

I'm running on a Pentium dual process 2.8GHz machine with 1 GB of RAM on Windows XP Media Center Edition with Service Pack 3.

Any ideas on what to try?

What version of HOI2 are your running?

What Patch have you installed.

I have the same problems.
Vanilla HOI2, version 1.3b patch, which I installed following the instructions in the "How to get your HOI2 installation up to date with the latest fixes" thread.

I get the crashes on unloading troops or when selecting a unit that's on a transport, and when scrolling while a naval battle is going on. I have a save that I can crash instantly if somebody wants it!

I haven't played since '06 some time but I played a lot then and sure it crashed, but not like this.
