Summary​

My game crashed on startup and all my game saves were deleted

Description​

I am using EGS. I was playing and again I couldn't save the game. I quit the game and when I wanted to play again it crashed. When I was able to run the game all my savegames were gone, as well as my created characters and realms.

Steps to reproduce​

1. I played I don't remember the turn.
2. I clicked on next turn button.
3. The message that the game cannot be saved appeared again.
4. I got out of the game.
5. I started the game again and it crashed. I sent a crash message that the game asked me to send.
6. After several hours I restarted the game, it didn't crash, but my saved games were gone, my created realms were gone, and my created characters were gone.

I have the same problem.

Epic Games bought.
Updated briefly from 1.002.003.78130 to 1.002.003.78192 and everything is now missing

Created Realms / Races
Progress on the Pantheon (that is especially painful)

Even the configuration got wiped, the keybindings, graphical settings, everything.

I am not amused. Something like that is not supposed to happen with a game in productive release.

Hey Guys

We've pushed a update (version 78192) for the continued issues on the Epic version of the game. In this update we've temporarily disabled Cloud Saves, this means that you will have lost your current progress and saves will be made Local only.

We understand that this is a incredibly frustrating situation but we deemed this the best solution to get you guys playing in the short term. A long term fix is still being worked on but this should allow you to enjoy the game over the weekend.

We are so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

does that mean we just have to wait, and a future patch will restore the savestates?
In that case I am not so angry anymore.

I do understand how difficult it is to work with the different stores, and honestly...
... I was too stupid to check if AoW4 is on Steam. Buying it on Epic was probably the big mistake there.

I'm sorry but I can't give more clarity regarding this at the moment. We're working with Epic on a proper solution but we have no indication on ETA or what that actually will look like.

Nah, buying from Epic is completely reasonable , there's just issues we didn't foresee. We really wish we had a better solution but we also don't want everybody to have a game that crashes on launch for this long.

I have no problem losing my progress, my saved games and my created characters. I just want my gaming experience to be a good one

One question, was there an option to disable cloud saving and save games locally?
