Just tried my first PU game (and first WC with DW).

Here is my progress

I've formed Great Britain, HRE is ready to be formed by me. I conquered France, got Aragon and Castille through inheritance. I've got colonies in Africa mainly, also own parts of India (this is my first game ever not conquering heavily early game)

I can now easily force PUs on Denmark and Poland.

The rest except for southern Italy (only other catholic part of the world left (Sweden and Norway in PU with Denmark)) has been eaten by GH.

Year is 1468. Anyone think I can make it? (I haven't gone very all in this game, since I'm experimenting with different economic models. Gotta love Calais as staple port and then a CoT there)

Some time ago i sad that there should be achievment for stopping the reformation - meaning by conquering europe by 1500 - that mean like every catholic nation. But whatever if you manage conquer the world before 1500, you can post it to THIS thread.

If you say the truth you could probably managed, but you should definitely have started crusading earlier.
Also I am like 101% sure that "the staple port" doesnt actually increase the value of a COT by 20% but only the value of the grain of the province. Otherwise a marketplace would raise the value of a cot by another 10% and that sounds highly unlikely.
And you should probably post pics, otherwise we all might have a hard time believing your feats.

Sounds like a very good start. I'm not sure why people would doubt it, it's not outrageous. Lucky to inherit castille/aragon so early though, especially since that early, i'm at war 100% of the time.
I'm not a big fan of colonizing Africa that early, it seems like a huge economic drain. Did you go QFTNW for first idea? Getting to India that fast seems like it could be good, how hard are the wars that early in India?

I've already cleared every seazone and conquistadored all of Africa.

CoT gives a tax bonus and staple port raises tax with +50%

EDIT: (and 1468 my CoT has a value of close to 1300 ducats, and that was before I inherited Aragon and Castille I checked that.

If you're forming the HRE & staying Catholic, then yep, very little doubt you can - barring intransigence in Japan of course.

Grats in getting to India, that takes some doing (&/or a blithe disregard for infamy) by 1458.

If you haven't addresed Portugal yet, may I suggest you stick it to them good & proper asap? :) You probably want to be sole coloniser, & they'll be your only rival if you've got rid of Castille.

I think you can do it, well I never did an WC before, but I think some people did it with their infamy lower than the Badboy limit all the time. this is at least what I have heard

Yeah, i see you clearly start to understand how things go in EUIII. Pitty that calais got quite low manpower i think...

The real pity is that it got a base tax of 5, or I would have made it my capital (you can't build tax assessor if your capitals base tax is under 10.)

It's better to move capital somewhere in Turkey - you will really appreciate shorter travel time when colonizing hordes. Economic things in individual provinces are pretty much irrelevant in WC. Huge census tax makes tax assessors unnecessary and manpower is obviously not of any concern either.

Thrace could perhaps be a good capital. But I don't think travel time on hordes is an issue, and doing so I would get longer travel time to the americas.

Once you've colonised/conquered the hordes you can always move your capital again to get the boosted rate for the rest of the American stuff.

Either way, it's a choice as to whether to colonise the hordes or the americas more quickly.
