I actually got my first ever win in the crusades in my game I was astonished. We managed to capture enough land and fight the enemy off before he got himself organised. Usually he is organised well in one stack and just wrecks you all. Not sure what happened except maybe sieging down provinces quick to give a base to stay in, i think because of attrition the AI splits up to stop death and then gets wrecked, once we had some land they could stick around a bit. It was close though.
To celebrate I decided to rule the new kingdom (because somehow my guy got chosen, im sure thats a bug because we didnt do that much but meh).
So yeah in 220 Hours my first ever crusade win!!! I messed up slightly because the guy I put as king of the holy land was a bastard so started his own line... So now im not in my own family anymore but who cares I WON A CRUSADEEEEEEEEEE!!!
