My first AAR - Finland, IGC - with screenshots
IGC 2.3 or 2.4? It's the latest, I only downloaded it the other day from that IGC site..

Times were worrying for our poor country, we were a vassal of our bitter enemies Sweden and we decided that our first goal would be to end this slavery.
We took out one bankloan and used this to promote tax collectors to all of our provinces.
1494
Sweden declared war on the Teutons, and asked us to honour our alliance. We refused. Our king felt it would be insane to fight with only Sweden on our side against the Teutons, Prussia, Hansa and Denmark.
1496
We refused several approaches from Sweden to ally ourselves with them, this was not in our interests.
Swedens war against the Teutons was not going well, the Swedish army lay in ruins and Souther Sweden was besieged by the Danes.
Jaakko I took control of our only army in Nyland.
Our king, Jaakko, ever the gambling man, decided that this was the time to rid ourselves of slavedom. We took out 3 new bank loans and raised an army of 40k men. We moved this army to Osterbotten and declared war on the evil Swedes in a sneak attack!

Our armies marched through Sweden without resistance, we were shcoked at how easily we were progressing in our war, Västerbotten fell within a 4 month siege, Lappland surrendered without a fight, and we moved onto Gästrikland. No sooner had we layed siege to Gästrikland than Danish troops entered the province and submitted to Jaakko's command of the siege, Jaakko decided to gamble and stormed the fortress. Success! Gästrikland fell in 1498!
We then sent the Swedes a peace proposal, rejected. We then took out a final loan and raised an army of 10k men, and sent them to a waiting Jaakko. We then marched onto Svealand, where the dane's were already besiging it, once more, they submitted to Jaakko's command, and after 8 months of siege it too fell
somehow the Swedes got into even more trouble, we hadn't really followed events too much, but now Venice was at war with them too! and Småland was occupied by the Venezians!
We signed a peace with Sweden, Gästrikländ, Västerbotten and Lappland to Finland.

Our royal court was thrilled at the great news of Sweden's current state! Gästrikland, Lappland and Västergotten were finnish, Väster-Gottland was Danish and Småland was Venezian! Sweden had been reduced to 2 provinces!
Continued arranging royal marriages with our european cousins, our German brothers first, and later the other europeans. Ofcourse, it goes without saying that we refused to have our daughters and sons marry any of the Russian royalty. Russia too, was our enemy. We also went bankrupt, but this was a minor inconvenience to our proud nation.

Our alliance with the Dane's ended, shortly thereafter the Poles invited us to their alliance. We joined willingly. Other members were Sweden,Turkey and Moldovia

We continued life with a small army and no navy. We were ebstablishing some sort of a fund to have in times of trouble.
1513
We declared war on the mameluks, somewhere in Egypt I believe, after our Turkish allies requested this. Ofcourse with no navy, we soon signed a white peace with the mameluks.

Our stability had risen to maximum once more, and noticing that denmark's vassal, norway, was unallied, we considered this to be an easy target. Plus the scum controlled our rightful province of Finnmark! We took out 2 bankloans, rasied an army, and declared war on the Norwegians (who had only a 12k army)

Only the norwegian capital and iceland wasn't in our hands, but this was soon corrected. We raised a navy of 5 transport ships and loaded 5k men on it and set sail for iceland, praying that we woulde be able to sneak under the Norwegian radar. Success! and soon iceland was ours, and our siege of Oslo had gone well, any day now and it would fall.

Jaakko decided to annex Norway to his realm.

We already had a poor stability, so we decided that now was the time to take a further hit and we followed Luther's recent teachings and became the world's first protestant nation!

We kept putting down some small occasional riots in sweden and norway. Worst was the siege we had to lay on Gastrikland now, but sometime in 1518 it was ours once more.

A conquistador came to Nyland! We were quite confused as to what we should do with such a brave explorer. After all, we had no seaman who dared to venture to the edge of the world!

The teutons made peace with us and gave us our rightful province of Estonia. The Finnish nation was almost complete! Outright rejoicing was seen in the Streets of Tallin and Turku.

Hansa was now a member of our alliance, they declared war on Prussia, we declined to take part.
We founded an alliance with our two Protestant brothers, Sweden and Prussia

A day of mourning came across our nation, as our great king, Jaakko I died =((

Sweden agreed to become our vassals!
Oh glorius day! Oh what rejoicing was seen all across finland! Our previous imprisinors were now our lapdogs! Hyvä Suomi!!

We started what would become a short war with Pskov. We qucikly captured Ingermanland, inkeri, and our alliance brothers captured the province of Pskov, they signed a peace giving us Ingermanland! Joy joy joy!

Russia declared war on us! The fools! our alliance swiftly rained down upon them, as their only ally was Ryazan, they could not hope to compete with our Prussian infantry!
In the final peace treaty, Finland gained Kola, Far Karelia and Onega. In a seperate peace, the Teutons acquired the province of Tver.
The hero of this war was our new great general, Jukka Karjalainen. What an inspiration he proved to be.
Unfortunately , the russians still held the province of Karelia, but we had decided to allow them to keep this in the meantime. We would use it to inspire our sons to another great war effort sometime in the future.
Finland now compromised of Finland, Norway and Iceland, Gastrikland,Lappland and Vasterbotten? and Kola,Far Karelia and Onega.
