Hey
After I saw that in Europe are so many provinces, even unimportant like Ulm, i thought why isn´t Arabia like this.
I know many of you will say, because Arabia is just desert. But I know that Paradox could do at least some more provinces in Arabia.
My plan:

In my opinion Arabia should be made like this. And badiyat al sham and rub al khali shouldn´t be wasteland.
The purple marked Areas should be bedouin provinces. That means you can pass that Region, but you can´t conquer them. And you should be able to have diplomatic Relations to the bedouin tribal leaders. If you have good Relations they won´t atack you when you pass that area. If you have bad Relations they should be able to atack you on the same way the natives of uncolonized regions can do.

What do you think? :D

The game map doesn't use exact scaling, certain areas are depicted as smaller (Africa) or larger (Europe) then they really are. This is for interface reasons (areas with lots of factions and cities need lots of provinces that need to be pictured larger than scale to be clickable) as well as the inherent distortion that happens when you flatten the globe out.

Okay I accept that.
But my Problem isnt just the size of Arabia.. as you can read in my first posting

I came here because of I thought the *** was masking a 3-letter word.

On topic, the problem with some of your suggestions is that they require special rules to deal with one small and frankly backwater region of the map. e.g. having a new nation(s) that can't be conquered but can have diplomacy, or a province that can be passed through but can't be colonised.

Though as a long-time CKII player I do agree with some others that having counties in CKII that turn into wasteland in EUIV is kinda bizarre. With the new development mechanics these could instead be very difficult to develop provinces, which could maybe start uncolonised and with hostile natives, very low supply limit and high attrition.
