Hey
After I saw that in Europe are so many provinces, even unimportant like Ulm, i thought why isn´t Arabia like this.
I know many of you will say, because Arabia is just desert. But I know that Paradox could do at least some more provinces in Arabia.
My plan:
2015-05-26_00002.jpg

In my opinion Arabia should be made like this. And badiyat al sham and rub al khali shouldn´t be wasteland.
The purple marked Areas should be bedouin provinces. That means you can pass that Region, but you can´t conquer them. And you should be able to have diplomatic Relations to the bedouin tribal leaders. If you have good Relations they won´t atack you when you pass that area. If you have bad Relations they should be able to atack you on the same way the natives of uncolonized regions can do.

What do you think? :D

Do you have any evidence that anyone ever moved the equivalent of a ten-regiment EU4 army across the Rub al-Khali in good order during the time period 1444-1820?

Because that's what a province does: it lets you move ten thousand armed men and their supplies in good order.

Now you are doing like a Genius..
In Arabia never existed organized armies like in the west ,so the biggest army of pre-oil Arabia was 8000-9000 soldier. (during ww1; in shammar)
Arabs didn´t marched like western armies.
And at least badiyat ash sham is crossable. In the earlier Versions of the game badiyat ash sham was passable why is it now wasteland?

That's outside the EU4 time frame.
A quick look on Wikipedia, at least, suggests that the oasis at al-Jawf has been an economically significant settlement since the middle of the Bronze Age.

I was mentioning the date of the map. Has for the rest, should an oasis be enough to declare all around it a province?
Maybe. (It's enough to get parts of the Sahara declared provinces.)

Pretty sure there was no real political control of that Area till the mid 1830's. I guess you could make it colonisable if someone REALLY wanted all that worthless desert.

I was mentioning the date of the map. Has for the rest, should an oasis be enough to declare all around it a province?
Yes it should be declared as province; just look at europe even small towns like Ulm and Ansbach are beeing made so why not in Arabia?

From Wikipedia: Population of Ulm:
1300: 4.000
1400: 9.000
1550: 19.000

just doubble´standard of you...

In times where central Arabia was just 1 province I also said that should be changed but even in that time there were People like you who said one province is for worthless desert enough!
